2021 IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems (FUZZ-IEEE)

FUZZ-IEEE 2021 will represent a unique meeting point for scientists and engineers, both from academia and industry, to interact and discuss the latest enhancements and innovations in the field. The topics of the conference will cover all the aspects of theory and applications of fuzzy sets, fuzzy logic and associated approaches (e.g. aggregation operators such as the Fuzzy Integral), as well as their hybridizations with other artificial and computational intelligence techniques.

The 2020 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics (SMC 2020) will be held in Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC), Toronto, Ontario, Canada.   • An approximation of betweenness centrality for Social Networks

    A challenge in the research of Social Networks is the large scale analysis of graphs. One of the most valuable metrics in the evaluation of graphs is betweenness-centrality. In this paper, we define an approximation of betweenness-centrality for the purpose of building a predictive model of Social Networks. The methodology presented describes a bounded distance approximation of betweenness-centrality designed for implementation within a parallel architecture. Through our proposed design pattern, we are able to leverage Big Data technologies to determine metrics in the context of ever expanding internet-based data resources.

  • The development of traditional Thai foot massage knowledge-based systems using ontology technique

    This study aimed to developing a knowledge-based systems of traditional Thai foot massage by using ontology techniques and developing its application as a semantic web. Since local knowledge of traditional Thai foot massage is often presented in plain information and lacking in knowledge organization system, clear understanding of the whole perspective of treatment intended to relieve or heal a disorder and knowledge transfer with traditional Thai massage can hardly be attained. To solve this issues ontology has been recommended to create the explicit of traditional Thai foot massage knowledge. An Ontology has the potential to play an important role in the traditional Thai massage instructional design and identify key classes and relationships among the classes in the domain knowledge. The result of this study is Traditional Thai Foot Massage Ontology (TTFMO), covers classes derived from traditional Thai foot massage as well as local wisdom. The TTFMO consists of 13 main classes: massage, objectives, use_method, pharmacy, discipline, material, diseases, diagnosis, patient_information_basic, actions, time_period, sequence, and demeanor. The TTFMO was accurateness evaluated by seven domain experts includes two ontology engineering specialists and five traditional Thai foot massage practitioners. Over all opinions in general strongly agreed with TTFMO regarding concept identification, relationship identification, content, accuracy, format, ease to use, timeliness, and perceived usefulness. As a TTFMO semantic web application was found to improve the efficiency of knowledge retrieval query by synonyms' information.

We need the Hadoop platform to implement the incremental and distributed ontologies over and above existing ontologies in Semantic Web. RDF is the basic representation of ontologies and it is used to describe the knowledge in the Semantic Web. The challenges is using RDF include structure of RDF and the memory that is needed for the incremental comparison. MapReduce is one of the main Hadoop components are needed during the mapping of ontologies in the Semantic Web using RDF. In this paper better way of using incremental RDF in Semantic Web is discussed.

  • OntoQue: A Question Generation Engine for Educational Assesment Based on Domain Ontologies

    Assessment forms a key constituent of the instructional process. It provides a measure for evaluating learning and evaluating the effectiveness of instructional pedagogy. However, constructing assessment items for objective tests is a challenging task, which is time consuming and requires experience. This paper describes the Onto Que system, an engine for objective assessment item generation based on domain ontologies. Ontologies are knowledge representation structures which provide a conceptual model of the domain. The engine uses knowledge inherent in the ontology about domain entities such as classes, properties, and individuals to generate semantically correct assessment items. We present the design, implementation and evaluation of the Onto Que engine. The system was evaluated using four OWL ontologies from different domains. Results of the evaluation show that %90 of assessment items generated by Onto Que are categorized as "good".

    In order to discover the potential semantic association on the heterogeneous product information among the virtual enterprise units over the Internet, a linked-entity visualization (LEV) base on the XOEM+OWL is put forward that uses AJAX/SVG to realize the visualization in the display space of the browser. It is driven by the semantic data and its data on the relationships between individual entities on the semantic data and the properties of these entities based on the XOEM+OWL semantic model. Lev semantic description is put forward at first, and then the correspondent data schemas are designed and build, the example is shown at last.

  • IndiGov-O: An ontology of Indian government to empower digital governance

    Ontologies enable both humans and machines to communicate precisely to support the exchange of semantics by defining shared collective domain knowledge. In this paper we build an ontology using Protege to organize knowledge of Indian Government portal. IndiGov-O, the ontology of Indian Government is a 4-level hierarchy in which various ministries of India, their respective departments and further functions and schemes have been conceptualized. The idea is to envision "digital governance" by virtue of social web adoption to a government model based on knowledge.

  • Semantic web application generation using Protégé tool

    In this paper we give details about the role of ontologies in Semantic Web and tools required for constructing Semantic Web applications. The Protégé tool for ontology development and knowledge acquisition can be adapted for editing models in different Semantic Web languages. In recent experiments to prototype the Semantic Web, members of different communities with different backgrounds have created a multitudinous of languages for representing ontologies and instance data on the Web. Typically, a Semantic Web language for describing ontologies and instance data contains a hierarchical description of important conceptual thing in a domain. Individuals in the domain are instances of these classes, and properties of each classes describes the various features and attributes of the concept. Logical statements describe relations among concepts. Protégé adopt the new world of the Semantic Web reusing its user interface, internal representation, and framework also it is useful in conceptual modeling with the new Semantic Web languages.
