  • Rough formal concepts and their accuracies

    This research is concerned with rough concept, a synthesis of rough sets and formal concept analysis. This theory is more expressive than ordinary approaches in knowledge representation and reasoning. Like rough sets theory, this research proposes an accuracy computing approach to characterizing the rough formal concept numerically and the role granules play there. And it also studies the basic relationship between the accuracy computing of rough form concept and granules.

  • Navigation and schema transformations for producing nested relations from networks

    Efficient procedures for producing nested relations from networks are considered. Various types of nested relations are defined according to the interaction between the networks' and nested relations' schemas. Among these types, partitional normal form (PNF) and accordant nested relations are shown to be produced by an extended navigation, called touch information display (TID) navigation, which requires time proportional to the number of tuples in the relation. It is demonstrated that a network can effectively produce a variety of nested relations by navigation. The efficiency of production is classified according to the interaction between the schemas of networks and targets. Non-PNF and/or non-accordant targets are generated using duplicate depletion. On the other hand, PNF and accordant targets can be generated using only navigation, which requires linear time in the number of tuples in the relation. Furthermore, for the cases on non-PNF and non-accordant targets, the TID method exploits the existence of links, so that the size of the region of the subrelation upon which deletion of duplicated values should be performed is limited.<<ETX>>

  • Modelling and simulation of team effectiveness emerged from member-task interaction

    A team¿s task process consists of allocation, processing and evaluation of a series of tasks. Team effectiveness emerges from interactions among team members. The interactions between the task process and members occur when team allocates and processes tasks. To address the effect of the interaction on team effectiveness, Multi-agent based modelling and simulation is utilized to develop a multi-agent model of team¿s task process, in which we put forward member relation degree and member-task matching degree to describe the social relations existing in a team and how members` competence match with tasks¿ demands respectively. We implement the model by Repast J and conduct experiments to validate the model using face validation technique in an actual Chinese team. The implication of the model to the team is discussed and some suggestions are offered. The conclusion is given at last.
