    We have designed and tested a radio communication monitoring system to support disaster medicine. It is hoped that it would be very useful to monitor a walkie-talkie of a fire-fighter personnel or fire radio equipped ambulance over Internet protocol (IP). It may be also helpful for medical treatment during a disaster in the case of terrorism. We can make a plan immediately to handle such kind of problems. This system is also called Web radio system. In June 1994 the cult Aum was more successful in its attempts to use chemical agents in Japan. Since ordinary medical Institutes did not have knowledge about sarin those days suitable treatment not be done by medical centers etc. And there were lots of more difficulties in medicine field so we research and introduced this IP system, to meet telemedicine requirements.

In this way, whether the one which accepted the test needs related treatments can be determined, so that it avoids illness deterioration in the unknown condition and guarantee the human's health. According to the subject, it is required to design and develop a system based on single chip to send an test pulse of human body and collect the feedback signal, then send the collected data to the upper software through the serial port. The top software analyzes the data to measure the health status of the various parts of the body and produce results of the analysis, feeding back to the user. This paper describes the overall system development process and the implementation of the software and hardware.

  • A methodology for special symbol recognitions

Finally, we compute the features from the special symbol sub-images and a supervised classifier is used to assign the sub-images to one of the predefined special symbol categories. The system was tested on 5516 images from the National Library of Medicine. The evaluation results are reported in the paper.

  • Dynamic QT-RR relationships in 12 lead ECG in patients with coronary artery disease

    A computerized system for the measurement of beat to beat QT-RR intervals over a 12 leads ECG system was developed to study the dynamic change of QT interval as a function of the RR interval. The system was evaluated on 12-leads ECG recordings during the exercise and recovery phases of a treadmill exercise test from two groups of male subjects: 15 coronary arteries disease (CAD) patients and 15 healthy Israeli Air Force pilots. It was found that the relationship between the RR and QT intervals during the complete cycle of the exercise test shows different patterns of hysteresis behavior for the healthy subjects and CAD patients. In conclusion, the present study combined engineering work with an important medical application and shows that using beat-to-beat QT-RR measurements during the exercise test may contribute to identifying patients with CAD. The computerized system developed provides an accurate tool for measuring the dynamic behavior of the QT-RR relationship that can be used for testing drug treatment and effects of other interventions for cardiac disorders and arrhythmia risk.

  • Field test of a force control rehabilitation system for quantitative evaluation of the disorder in the upper extremities

    This paper reports on a field test of our simple force-sensor-based rehabilitation device that can be handled at homes or neighboring medical institutions. We propose a tri-axial load cell controller system for quantitatively evaluating the visually guided motor control characteristic of a weak palsy arm. The result is recorded in the database while evaluation is presented for each trial. The system is tested at an orthopedic clinic with outpatients: cervical spinal cord injured patient and 2 other cases. Their mid-term testing results are discussed.

  • An approach to classification of psychological testing using neural networks

    Self-organizing mapping, an unsupervised learning algorithm, is applied. The accuracy of this approach has been tested using 282 students' psychological testing. Through analyzing the weights of networks, a suggestion for improving the inventory is provided.

  • The phased array technology-application to time reversal in acoustics

    In this paper, we briefly present two particular experiments based on time- reversal of ultrasonic fields; it shows how the phased array technology can be applied to ultrasonic systems. The method has been widely tested and is robust for defect detection, target location, even in the case of complex or very noisy systems.

  • Reversible data hiding based on interleaving max-min difference histogram

    This work proposed a reversible data hiding algorithm that is based on the interleaving max-min difference histogram. The method divides the cover image into non-overlapping identical blocks. In each block, the maximum or minimum pixel is selected to calculate absolute differences between the gray level value of the selected pixel and that of the other pixels. Then, these differences are used to generate a histogram and the histogram shifting method is adopted to embed data. The change of the pixel gray level upon shifting and embedding obtained using the max difference is contrary to that obtained using the min difference. The method of interleaving uses the max difference and the min difference to counteract the change in the gray levels of some pixels. The total of the changed gray level values is thus reduced. Therefore, the PSNR value can be increased and the quality of the stego image improved. Experimental results reveal that the proposed method yields a higher embedding capacity than that of the median difference histogram.
