• Heavy ion component test coordination

The authors describe motivations for CECIL group creation, its objectives, its organization and its test facilities. CECIL is a group created by CNES with Matra Marconi Space, CERT, Alcatel Espace and Aerospatiale. The main objective of the group is to coordinate the heavy ion electronic component characterizations. This will allow: test facilities optimization, test duplication avoidance, and cost reduction.<<ETX>>

  • Analysis and Implement of Development Zone Intensive Land Use Evaluation System

In order to resolve problems existed in development zone land use and management, and provide decision support to the regulators and policy makers, this paper proposed development zone intensive land use evaluation indicator system based on current status of intensive use of land. Then base on making full use of AHP in the advantages of multi-criteria decision analysis method, we adopt the UML modeling thinking and modeling function in evaluation of intensive land use. This paper also makes an analysis of modeling via the system requirements, logical structure, dynamic structure and process respectively. At last we provide an implement to prove that the method is feasibility and versatility in the industry.

  • Notice of Retraction<br>Research on management mechanism of inter-regional bundled world heritage

Under the new situation of ‘Cairns Decision’ limitation of the numbers of world heritage declaration for each country, the approach of inter-regional bundled world heritage declaration is created to break through the restrictions, as well as an important way out for China to declare for world heritage. Based on analyzing the characteristics of inter-regional bundled world heritage, this paper discusses the necessity of maintaining the common brand and quantity of world heritage after succeeding in heritage declaration and probes into the management mechanism of inter-regional bundled world heritage, so as to effectively direct healthy operation of this type of world heritage project.

  • The Construction of Digital Archives of Wanchun Gong in Taichung City

The Taichung Wanchun Gong Mazu Temple is called “Lanxing Mazu” or “Taichung Mazu,” the temple being one of the earliest Mazu temples in the Taichung area. This research is a direct result of a collaborated project entitled “The Compilation of Taichung Wanchun Gong's Gazetteer and Its Website Construction” between the temple's Management Committee and the Central Taiwan University of Science and Technology (CTUST) in 2009. This work is motivated by the need for an ancient Mazu temple with local color, to cope with the advent of the information era by using academic/cultural resources for digitizing archiving and networking so that it can offer better religious/cultural services in today's increasingly digital times.

  • Applications of Discrete and Combined Modeling to Global Simulation

This paper calls the attention of discrete event modelers to some potentially important applications of their skills in the field of global simulation. It also informs them about Mission Earth. A limited investigation of the use of discrete event simulation in world simulations is reported. It is found, surprisingly to the author, that very little use has been made of discrete event models in world simulation. Therefore, there appears to be a good opportunity for discrete event and combined (discrete event plus continuous) modelers to make contributions to world simulation. Specific aspects of world simulation are in the Society for Computer Simulation International there is an activity which provides a home and forum for such work. The activity is called Mission Earth. Its purpose is to explore and promote the uses of simulation as the prime tool for global planning to sustain all life on earth.
