  • On the development of on-line monitoring and intelligent control system of the total alkalinity of boiler water

    Boiler scaling was among the major reasons for the frequent occurrence of boiler accidents. By monitoring and controlling the total alkalinity of boiler water, the scaling tendency could be altered, thus the orderly functioning of the boiler could be ensured. However, on-line monitoring and control of the total alkalinity of boiler water was still a difficult issue both at home and abroad. In this paper, a new way to tackle the problem was proposed, in which the total alkalinity of boiler water was indirectly obtained through the on- line measurement of boiler water's pH value and temperature and the boiler pressure. Based on the standard for the total alkalinity of boiler water stipulated in Water Quality Standards (GB 1576-85), an intelligent compound control strategy was adopted to realize the on-line intelligent control of the total alkalinity of boiler water on a 16-bit chip microcomputer-based system. As is shown from the actual operating results, the method of the real-time monitoring and control of the total alkalinity of boiler water in this paper is feasible, the monitoring and control system developed is both reliable in functioning and easy to operate, and relatively better controlling effects have since been achieved.

  • HRRP Classification by Using Improved SVM Decision Tree

    Support vector machine (SVM) has been used in high resolution range profile (HRRP) classification for its good generalization ability for the pattern classification problem with high feature dimension and small training set. In order to perform multi-class classification, decision-tree-based SVM was studied, the structure and the classification performance of the SVM decision tree was analyzed. A separability measure which based on the distribution of the training samples was defined, the defined separability measure was applied into the formation of the decision tree, and an improved algorithm for SVM decision tree was proposed. The scheme of using the improved algorithm for SVM decision tree to classify HRRP was given. Experiments using the range profile datasets prove the effectiveness of our scheme

  • An AQM algorithm based on Variable Structure PID controller

    From control theoretic perspective, the Internet is a time-varying, highly nonlinear system with large time lag. The classic, fixed parameter Active Queue Management schemes are incapable of dealing with this kind of system which makes it necessary to design adaptive algorithms. In this paper we propose a Active Queue Management scheme based on Variable Structure PID controller. Variable Structure PID is a PID-like controller with its parameters being adapted in such way that: when error is big, strengthen the effect of proportional term, weaken the effects of integral and differential terms, so as to accelerate the response speed of system; when error is small, weaken the effect of proportional term while strengthen that of integral and differential terms, so as to enhance the robustness of system and improve steady state behavior. Simulations show that Variable Structure PID achieves far better performance at the cost of only tiny increase of computational complexity.

  • Research of task re-allocation mechanism in agile supply chain based on combinatorial auction

    In multi-agent system based agile supply chain management, there are many complex task re-allocation problems at the transaction level. In this paper, we use the combinatorial auction theory to solve these problems. We first analyze the features of task re-allocation problems and build a problem model, and then design a comprehensive task re-allocation mechanism based on combinatorial auction. Some further research on the problem is also discussed.
