The 2020 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics (SMC 2020) will be held in Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC), Toronto, Ontario, Canada. SMC 2020 is the flagship conference of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society. It provides an international forum for researchers and practitioners to report most recent innovations and developments, summarize state-of-the-art, and exchange ideas and advances in all aspects of systems science and engineering, human machine systems, and cybernetics. The semiconductor industry has entered a period of great promise destined to be the most fruitful and rewarding in its history. This potential has been recognized by governments, major non-electric companies, communications and media organizations, with all exerting strong external forces on directions and strategies ....Concurrently, the rate of technology advancements continues unabated with major technology turnovers occurring every five to seven years. Each advance is more demanding, pressing for internal capabilities to design and manufacture devices and the need to meet critical requirements for interfacing with external users .... Do these forces present challenges that require new approaches and strategies by the semiconductor industry, or are they large-scale versions of similar forces that have been faced by industry in each of the major technology events of the past 25 years? ....These vital issues will be assessed.
Brazil's plans for scores of hydropower dams on rivers deep into the rain forest are discussed. Two dams have been built by 1988. Tucurui, already completed, generates 4000 megawatts (MW) of electricity from a 2430-square- kilometer forebay; when complete, its power plant will have a capacity of 7300 MW. Balbina which has been a problem to develop, is due to start operating this year, six years behind schedule; it will create a largely stagnant lake the size of Tucurui's, but will have a capacity of only 250 MW. Economic, social, and environmental issues that surround further projects are examined. Brazil's hopes of easing economic strain by installing more efficient equipment, implementing better industrial processes, and promoting conservation are discussed.<<ETX>>

The case selecting of tax check in real estate industry has been the subject of considerable research effort in recent years. In this paper, we propose Wavelet neural networks (WNN) for it, which used in many fields because of their advantages over neural network and wavelet analysis as they achieve faster convergence and discriminance more precise. A suit of evaluation indices are constructed as well as the WNN's applying model. Finally, simulation tests are developed on it. Experimental results verify that its convergent velocity and discriminant precision are quickly and steadily achieved, and shows its better performance than Back-Propagation neural network (BPNN) and multiple linear discriminance analysis (MLDA).
A cursory glance at the computer industry's spending on research and development might draw attention to individual companies' investments. In a continued tight economy, expenditures on blue-sky research might seem especially dispensable. Regardless of individual corporations' spending, experts say, the entire R&D environment is changing due to rapidly evolving technology, including converging computing and communications functions; innovative partnerships between the academic community and industry; the increasing importance of international standards bodies; and lastly, the US Congress's flurry of activity in the wake of the 11 September terror attacks. The paper considers the relationship between the academic research community and industry.
In this paper, an effective method with artificial neural networks (ANN) and a genetic algorithm (GA) was suggested for modeling the azeotropic distillation system with unknown or complex mechanisms and optimizing its operating parameters to save energy. The satisfactory results of this investigation demonstrated the feasibility and effectiveness of the suggested method. Furthermore, the azeotropic distillation system after optimization results in reduction of heat use by 54.03%. Thus, the study provides means for further optimization of the azeotropic distillation system, and directs practical production for process optimization.
