It analyzes basic SSDA, combines the characteristics of color, shape and size, then improves the SSDA.     This paper presents simulation results on the performance of similarity metrices for image matching. Specifically, matching and determining the transformation between slightly rotated images are addressed. The use of a correlation function and an error function as similarity metrices is reexamined when there is a coupling between translation and rotation. Sensitivity of these two metrices in the above context is compared. A hybrid iterative strategy is proposed based on the sensitivity analysis to enhance the matching accuracy.<<ETX>>

    Fingerprint Recognition is one of the oldest and popular methods for person identification. There are two major approaches of fingerprint recognition namely image based and minutiae based. This paper presents an image based fingerprint recognition method. In this work first core point is detected and pre processing of image is done then transformation technique like Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT), Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and Gabor Filter are used for feature extraction. These features consist of mean energy, standard deviation and Shannon entropy. The good recognition accuracy is achieved on the FVC 2002 database. Comparison of all the four transform is presented here and it is observed that DCT and DFT gives better result as compared to DWT and Gabor filter.

In multi-object tracking, also, there have been several works which used CNN for extracting appearance feature of targets. Although, deep appearance feature improved an accuracy of tracking, it increased processing time and made an algorithm hard to be applied in real- world situation. So, we propose a simple technique to improve speed by removing redundant appearance matchings. Also, we propose a structure of joint-input siamese network and method to train it. We verify the performance of our work by comparison with recent online trackers.

  • Synthetic fingerprint-image generation

    Introduces a method for the generation of synthetic fingerprint images. Gabor- like space-variant filters are used for iteratively expanding an initially empty image containing just one or a few seeds. A directional image model, whose inputs are the number and location of the fingerprint cores and deltas, is used for tuning the filters according to the underlying ridge orientation. Very realistic fingerprint images are obtained after the final noising-and- rendering stage.

  • The research and improvement of fingerprint matching algorithm

    For the superiority of good uniqueness, stability and being easily collected, fingerprint has become one of the most widely used biological characteristics. The algorithm of fingerprints identification is generally divided into three parts: image pretreatment, feature point extraction and matching. This paper analyses and improves the most widely used matching algorithm - the shortest distance point matching algorithm which is based on point model. Firstly, we need to find a reference point, which is taken as the Origin of the polar coordinates, among the feature points. Secondly, transfer the feature points to the polar coordinates from the rectangular coordinate system, now the consequence caused by the translation of the fingerprint image is clear. There are two steps in matching process, in first matching, if the amount of the matching points, without considering the effect of angle, is greater than or equal to the threshold, we step into the second matching based on angle. It is proved that the improvement is significantly effective to the system which includes a large amount of template images in the database.

  • Adaptive block matching motion estimation algorithm for video coding

    A simple adaptive block matching algorithm is proposed for motion estimation. The proposed method exploits the motion correlation of spatially neighbouring blocks to determine the search origin and adjusts the search range according to different motion content of the block. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm achieves nearly the same MSE performance as the full-search method but requires /spl sim/80% less computation.<<ETX>>

  • Evaluation and monitoring of fingerprint acquisitions for the European Visa Information System experiences from Austria

    The Biometric Evaluation Authority (BEA) concept allows to evaluate and monitor fingerprint acquisitions with regard to the European Visa Information System (VIS). In Austria, a BEA implementation was installed in order to evaluate the quality of the acquired fingerprints, the duration of the fingerprint acquisition process, the number of captures conducted and the results of fingerprint record uniqueness checks. This paper introduces the concept of the BEA and presents results of the Austrian visa application process achieved in the first months of the VIS in operation.
