This paper explains how QoS capabilities of different transport technologies are leveraged to attain end-to-end QoS and how it is used in the case of PLC plus IEEE 802.11e networks. This architecture will allow for better managing of the QoS in the SEN domains and it should facilitate the interoperability with other technologies.

Choreography models, however, are not static and evolve as business partners change over time. In order to increase the robustness of these, typically inter-organizational, business processes, we propose to make services adaptive to these kinds of changes. In this paper, we present a model-based approach on how choreographic changes can be automatically resolved in the implementing orchestration. We demonstrate our conceptual approach by providing an implementation that adapts an orchestrator to changes in the ordering of business objectives.

  • Research on multi-objective decision model based on location-allocation analysis during emergency traffic evacuation

    Large-scale emergency events bring a lot of effect to people's ordinary life, so it is necessary to provide fast and effective location-allocation analysis information for emergency traffic evacuation and succor. In this issue, some related models based on location-allocation analysis are introduced into emergency traffic evacuation field. Considering the actual situation and character of emergency traffic evacuation, we develop maximum covering models which are applied to emergency traffic evacuation and its optimized algorithm. Finally, we discuss some feasible solution strategies, and then get the large- scale emergency traffic evacuation plan, provide dependable decision-making support for succor.

  • 3D face recognition by SURF operator based on depth image

    Expression variation is one of the most important factors that considerably influence the performance of face recognition. In order to enhance robustness to expression variations, a procedure of 3D face recognition based on depth image and SURF Operator is proposed. We use Fisher Linear Discriminant (FLD) method on the depth image to perform coarse recognition first to catch the highly ranked 3D faces. This stage can distinguish those faces that differ significantly and it is robust to expression variations to some extent. On the basis of this step, we extract the SURF features of the 2D gray images, that are corresponding only to those highly ranked 3D faces, to carry out the refined recognition. The experiments indicated a high recognition rate by our procedure even when the face expressions of training samples differ greatly from testing samples.

  • An IPTV Service State API for converging managed and unmanaged IPTV infrastructures

    In this paper we present an approach towards an open API for managed and unmanaged IPTV Ecosystems, as standardized in Open IPTV Forum and ETSI TISPAN. Inspired by ETSI TISPAN's so called IPTV Service State, containing information upon a current user's service usage data and behavior, the design and implementation of an IPTV Service State API realized inside the FOKUS IPTV Ecosystem will be presented. The goal of this API is to provide a protocol independent mechanism allowing access to an IPTV service provider's infrastructure and its users. The API enables on the one hand other service enablers to manipulate a single user's IPTV session, e.g. for targeted ad insertion, as well as various Web oriented client technologies (e.g. Widget oriented systems) to be integrated into standardized infrastructures.

    This paper proposes a multiagent technology-based framework ICHO for supporting the self-organization of service cooperation, which, based on the model of IGTASC, can remove the “trust” crisis resulted in by the inherent non-controllability of business services across different management domains and be integrated closely with real-life application software by developing three mechanisms: Institution-governed, Contract-ensured, and Hierarchical self-Organization.

    Effective support for policy makers depends on the ability to model the micro level, in terms of adaptive individual decision making process given subjective social norms, individual preferences, and interpretation of policies. But also requires the specification of macro level changes such as institutions and emerging norms and values. In this paper, we introduce the MASQ metamodel to describe both the macro as well as the micro level issues that relate to policy evaluation, and their interactions. We use a real life scenario, on the pig farm industry in China, to illustrate our proposal.
