  • Decorative pattern design of ceramic based on cloud model and fractal art

    The original design of ceramics patterns based on the cloud model and fractal art is a new method to decorate the appearance of ceramic with computer technology. Computer with fractal theory of digital technology can create the patterns in which there are different kinds of objects whose styles seem to imitate the growth postures of plants coming from nature. We advanced some fractal algorithms, which make the algorithms performance more powerful and improve the efficiency of fractal images making, those strategies allow the art effect of fractal images to develop into be better and higher level and to exert their potentials. In order to be better to obtain rich and colorful fractal images, we open up the basic principle of the cloud model of uncertainty intelligence used to imitate the drift phenomenon of plants growth in nature and to design to render the ceramics pattern¿s appearance, producing different and surprising art patterns with different styles and colors. Furthermore, the images can be beautified by the computer image manipulation software and append some synthetic art tint, which let fractal images become design materials of ceramics patterns with great quality. The experiment indicates that the new method, compared with the traditional one, makes the ceramics patters have some characters such as better art property, higher quality, richer color and elegant temperament and so on.

    This paper introduces the geometric continuity equations of the closed planar polygons and gives the definition of a morphing with geometric continuity between two arbitrary planar polygons, including simple, non-3 and even degenerated polygons. A simple morphing technique based on linear interpolation of the geometric continuity equations is proposed. The closureness of the in-between polygons is precisely achieved. Two global invariants: rotation indexes and winding numbers are introduced to describe the most general polygons. The demo shows that this technique is efficient and natural for morphing between polygons with arbitrary rotation indexes and winding numbers.

This provides a physical explanation for the widely practiced fractal art therapy which is based on the perception of static and dynamic fractal images.
