    PacificVis 2014 is planned as the 7th international symposium in the Asia-Pacific region, with the consistent objective to foster greater exchange between computer visualization researchers and practitioners, and to draw more researchers in the region to enter this rapidly growing area of research. Computer visualization deals with discrete samples of large-scale, high-dimensional/variate (time-varying), higher-order, frequently uncertain datasets, which ubiquitously arise in measurement and simulation of various application problems in statistics and mathematics; financial, security and business; physical sciences and engineering; earth, space and environmental sciences; bio-medical sciences; documents and software; sociology and education, etc. Expected papers can be characterized with a variety of technical focuses, ranging from design of schemes and algorithms to empirical and comprehension studies and development of system and hardware, display and Interaction technologies.
