  • Optimal Noise Benefits in Neyman–Pearson and Inequality-Constrained Statistical Signal Detection

    We present theorems and an algorithm to find optimal or near-optimal ldquostochastic resonancerdquo (SR) noise benefits for Neyman-Pearson hypothesis testing and for more general inequality-constrained signal detection problems. The optimal SR noise distribution is just the randomization of two noise realizations when the optimal noise exists for a single inequality constraint on the average cost. The theorems give necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of such optimal SR noise in inequality-constrained signal detectors. There exists a sequence of noise variables whose detection performance limit is optimal when such noise does not exist. Another theorem gives sufficient conditions for SR noise benefits in Neyman-Pearson and other signal detection problems with inequality cost constraints. An upper bound limits the number of iterations that the algorithm requires to find near-optimal noise. The appendix presents the proofs of the main results.

With the wavelet transform and Shannon entropy theory, the wavelet-time entropy algorithm is introduced in this paper. And the numerical simulations are carried out to prove the feasibility of this algorithm in abnormal signal detection. An improved wavelet-time entropy algorithm is put forward in this paper. The high-frequency coefficients of wavelet transform are replaced by the low-frequency coefficients, and the optimal width of window is worked out for actual ultrasonic signal. The results show that this improved wavelet-time entropy algorithm can effectively detect the echo signal in ultrasonic signal.

  • A Method of 2FSK Signal Detection Using Duffing Oscillator

    Based on the principle of the chaos theory of weak signal detection, a new method is presented for Duffing oscillator used to demodulate 2FSK signal in this paper. The method can demodulate the 2FSK signal under strong noise background in the signal-to-noise rate at -25dB. Finally, the feasibility and the validity of the method were testified by the simulation.

  • Reliability study of the digital rocket-ground signal detection and analysis system

    The digital rocket-ground signal detection and analysis system is mainly used to remote and local real-time detect and acquire the signals from the key equipments of the control system of the carrier rockets. As a supporting product of the launch vehicles, this system has strict reliability requirements for the hardware and software. With the design of a multi- channel, integrated, real-time detection scheme, the methods of how to improve the hardware and software reliability of the system was discussed. The reliability of related hardware were expected with the method of stress analysis from the component level, unit circuit level, function modules and system-level, and the results show that the reliability of the system is great and can meet the system requirements.

  • GA-SVD based signal detection in cognitive radio networks

    This paper is an implementation of genetic algorithm over SVD-based signal detection in cognitive radio networks in wireless communication system. We simulated the proposed algorithm for detection of common mpsk signal and analyze the performance of detector for blind signal detection where the knowledge of primary user is not present. The paper shows the better results and comparison is between the SVD based signal detection method and proposed method for cognitive radio networks.

  • A Study on Improving the Abnormal Signal Detection Ability of Digital Storage Oscilloscope

    Abnormal signal detection is a hot research in electronic test field. The digital storage oscilloscope detects abnormal signals by signal acquisition, abnormal signal identification, storage and display. Though the existing oscilloscope signal acquisition ability is technically improved by increasing the sampling rate, the waveform capture rate and other indicators, the identification, storage and display of abnormal signal show some deficiencies, which results in low abnormal signal detection efficiency and less application of detection function. The purpose of this paper is to improve the digital storage oscilloscope abnormal signal detection ability totally, design the abnormal signal detection system based on FPGA, study the method to improve the abnormal signal identification, storage and display, realize real-time, accurate identification and storage of abnormal signal in long period of time without manual monitoring, realize accurate offline positioning for abnormal signal in multiple display modes, and greatly improve the abnormal signal detection efficiency and practicability of the oscilloscope.

  • Research on weak signal detection for downhole acoustic telemetry system

    Weak signal detection is very important for the downhole acoustic telemetry system used in the process of petroleum exploration and development. This paper introduces a new method of weak signal detection which based on LabVIEW Programming for the downhole acoustic telemetry systems. First, analyzed the signal transmission characteristics and noise distribution law, as well as weak signal detection principle, and then on this basis, proposed an effective intelligent time-frequency Joint detection method which achieved by LabVIEW Programming, conducted a detailed analysis for how the different parameters impacted the system states and an actual signal detection experiment. The results show that the method in detecting characteristic parameters of the weak signal and improving the signal to noise ratio is a very effective way, the method could effectively detect the desired signal under strong noise background. It could meet the needs of acoustic telemetry system.
