  • The design and implementation of Signal Integrity test vector generation based on JTAG

With intensive study on IEEE std1149.1, and the basic idea of HTF(Half Transition) Fault Mode, an architecture for SI(Signal Integrity) test vector based on extended JTAG is designed and realized. The implementation of the idea is that, The advantage of the new instruction is that on the base of fully complied with IEEE1149.1 standard, it have been added to extend the function of boundary-scan architecture and provide the support to SI testing.

  • On-the-fly software replacement in faulty remote robots

Remote robots are too expensive to be abandoned once a fault is detected. Moreover, faults may be overcome by wireless transmission of software replacements. But improper timing and replacements could cause crash and damages rather than system recovery. We designed a dynamic software controller that tracks robot applications, builds and continuously populates relevant data structures, for posterior accurate on-the-fly component replacement. The non-invasive controller implementation and validating tests are described.

  • Parametric Optimization of Tape-burnish Process for Perpendicular Recording Media of Hard Disk Drive

The requirement of perpendicular recording media to further reduce spacing between read/write head and media surface will challenge tape-burnish process to produce more and defect-free media surfaces. This paper explores Taguchi DoEs application in optimizing the tape-burnishing process. The experiments show that optimized process can produce the more required media surface.

  • A self-stabilizing shortest path algorithm in a DAG

This paper describes two protocols applicable to directed acrylic graph topologies. The first is a topological sorting of the successor list at each node, and the second is a shortest routing path protocol. Both of these protocols are resilient to transient failures in that they guarantee system recovery in a finite number of moves. This resiliency is obtained by using the notion of self-stabilization. This is a method by which convergence to the desired behavior is guaranteed. These algorithms have direct application in network routing.<<ETX>>

Exception handling in workflow management systems (WFMSs) is a very important problem since it is not possible to specify all possible outcomes and alternatives. To ensure a high service quality in such Procurement and Inventory Management System based on workflow, exception-handling schemes for conflict resolution are needed. In this paper, a based on Agent workflow exception handing model and mechanisms for monitoring analyzing are presented. The exception event library according to ECA rules has been established.
