  • Video monitoring system for large maintenance machinery

    Large railway maintenance machinery plays a significant role in ensuring the railway running safety. Video monitoring system for monitoring the process of maintenance and construction such as the tamping machine is an important research topic to achieve the goal of supervising the working state and working quality. A video monitoring system based on TMS320DM642 DSP, local network and GPRS is developed for large maintenance machinery. The overall design of the system is introduced firstly. Then the vehicle video data acquisition system and the vehicle video monitoring system are described in detail. Finally, the laboratory test and application results are given. The running results show that the monitoring system is stable and reliable.

A novel method based on the exponent dynamical cross-correlation factor is presented to detect abrupt change points. Ideal time series is used to evaluate the performance of the proposed method. CWRU vibration signal data analysis of bearings using the presented method show that the load changes have no significant effect on the dynamic characteristics and fault defects have strongly influence on dynamic characteristics of rotating machinery.

    The agriculture machinery guidance technology is one of precision agricultural important technologies. Based on GPS and GIS, it can raise working efficiency and improve the quality, reduce production costs, reduce driver working difficulty. This research's general goals realize the aided guidance function for agriculture machinery driving on road and straight line operation in the field by lightbar. The system uses Visual Basic 6.0 and MapObjects 2.2, uses the RS232 serial port communication, uses the AgGPS 332 receiver, uses the DGPS signal offered by Satellite Based Augmentation Systems, uses touch-screen vehicle carries computer for the superior computer, applies the existing area electronic map, develops region's farmland and path's geographic information system, enables the farm machinery to obtain the guidance information for transportation between the fields. When farm machinery works in field without guidance line, system can make guidance straight line at first traveling schedule according to the A and B points, uses light-bar guidance. Lightbar's hardware circuit uses the 89S52 Single chip micro-processor and outside expands two piece of 74HC245 to actuate the LED. The system has realized to agriculture machinery's guidance function and could record operating course and calculate area and review operation that is convenient for agricultural production and information management.

The purpose of this paper is to describe an ISO 9001:2015 compliant Risk Based PLM System currently being implemented at Valiant TMS, a global Machine Tool Builder. The system is applicable to any company in the Machine Tool Industry. The paper will cover applying Risk Based PLM tools from the definition of Customer Requirements through to the installation and maintenance of the machine tool. Special attention will be paid on how to properly implement the Machinery FMEA (MFMEA) and the common mistakes made when doing so. The obstacles experienced by Valiant TMS while implementing Risk Based PLM will also be discussed.

  • A Physics-Based Deep Learning Approach for Fault Diagnosis of Rotating Machinery

    During the recent few years, deep learning has been recognized as a useful tool in condition monitoring and fault detection of rotating machinery. Although existing deep learning approaches to fault diagnosis are able to intelligently detect and classify the faults in rotating machinery, most of these approaches rely exclusive on data and thus are purely data-driven, and do not incorporate physical knowledge into the learning and prediction processes. To address this challenge, this study proposes a novel approach, namely physics-based convolutional neural network (PCNN), for fault diagnosis of rotating machinery and targets fault detection of rolling-element bearings as a special application of PCNN. In the proposed approach, an exclusively data-driven deep learning approach, called convolutional neural network, is carefully modified to incorporate useful information from physical knowledge about bearings and their fault characteristics. The performance of the proposed PCNN approach in machinery fault diagnosis is compared with that of traditional machine learning- and deep learning-based approaches reported in the literature.

  • Long-Term Real-Time Monitoring System for Port Machinery Based on Fiber Grating Sensors

    A real-time strain monitoring system based on distributed Fiber Bragg Grating sensors is designed for the health monitoring of port machinery. This paper describes the system design and field test on port machinery in Qing Huangdao and the test results are discussed. Through the long-term monitoring on running state especially the structure strain of port machinery, the status of the port machinery including security and fatigue life could be acquired and estimated exactly, which could provide the foundation for the use and maintenance of port machinery and improve the security of the port machinery. Long-term test results showed good linearity and repeatability.

    Aiming at the problems of large input of material cost in traditional agriculture, strong dependency of agricultural personnel, and low efficiency of agricultural production, this paper proposes and implements a research on agricultural machinery operation system based on Beidou navigation system. The system integrates BeiDou satellite positioning technology, wireless communication technology and geographical information technology to accurately position locomotives, real-time monitoring of locomotive operation geographic information and operation trajectory through cloud platforms, calculating agricultural machinery operation area, ensuring the quality of agricultural production, and promoting modern agricultural intelligence development.

  • Fault Prediction of Ship Machinery Based on Gray Neural Network Model

    Aimed at the limitation of feedforward and feedback ANN, and the shortcoming that the diagnostic characteristic parameters are considered separately in conventional fault forecast method for machinery equipment, the multivariable gray model, MGM(l,n), and RBF network are introduced into fault prediction, which allows characteristic parameters to be described from the viewpoint of systems. It predicts future characteristic parameters considering the past and current machinery information, then RBF network is used to predict online. The fault prediction example indicates that the model has good prediction precision. It offers an effective method for reliable real-time fault diagnosis.
