  • A web-based distributed group decision support system for railway construction organization

    Railway construction organization is a crucial part of modern railway operation system and the decision-making of construction plan is a complex and difficult problem. Compounding with computer science, information technology and group decision support system theory, a web-based distributed group support system, called Railway Construction plan Decision Support System (RCDSS) is designed and developed. The key issues of RCDSS are discussed including the system solution and the main framework, the data support service platform, the model base, the knowledge base and the inference engine. Based on computer-aided compiling of construction plan, RCDSS provides train schedule influence analysis, railway technical operation influence analysis, railway macro-network operation influence analysis and multi-criteria comprehensive evaluation for further decision support. RCDSS has been implemented in Shenyang Railway Administration in China in a Web-based environment and is accessible by authorized decision makers without geographical constraints. The result demonstrates the system enable better performance in railway construction decision.

    Based on the previously proposed framework, the Web-base Job Assignment's Decision Support System (WJADSS) was implemented and launched. The result of system evaluation pinned point that the degree of job satisfaction evaluated by both job supervisors and employees was increased. However, the given system did not completely support the multi-level job assignment process which is normally found in the project workflow. Therefore, a framework for building a web-based decision support system for supporting ldquomulti-level job assignment processrdquo and ldquocollaborative workflowrdquo within a project team is identified. The new system, called the ldquoWeb-based Multi-level Job Assignment's DSS (WMJADSS), is now being implemented. The existing models are adjusted to support both single-level and multi-level job assignment. Moreover, to increase efficiency and effectiveness of work performed along the project workflow, the data stored in the repositories will be used for producing descriptive and procedural knowledge for project's stakeholders.

    We have to build different SDSS (Spatial Decision Support System) to support different geospatial decisions. Among these SDSS, GIS data and models are usually used repeatedly. Thus, in this paper, we propose a ontology-oriented geospatial decision support system for discovering, efficiently using, and automatically executing GIS data and analysis resource on Internet. By the ontology-based system, we not only presented a ontology-based and web GIS services-based spatial decision support service, but also provided a flexible architecture to solve geospatial semantic impediments which can be applied to different domain. At last, one Ontology-based Web Spatial Decision Support System prototype is designed and implemented.

This paper focuses on information organization and design, and publishes a variety of services to a unified source of the entrance to form a standard service cloud, user-friendly and made the service access control strategy for cloud classification, through the hierarchical control structure of the services of varying competence cloud, to build the secure cloud environment.

  • The Paradigms for the Inquiry in Decision Support System (DSS) and a Design Framework of Cognitive DSS

    Research paradigm plays an important role in the study of decision support system (DSS). Currently most researches in DSS heavily rely on positivist paradigm while other paradigms are ignored. Firstly this paper compares the paradigms for the inquiry in DSS. Then we propose a design framework of cognitive DSS based on dialectic pluralist paradigm. Some major components of the system and the design of key recommendation algorithm are introduced.

  • The Design of Group Decision Support System for Emergency Management

    China has entered a period in which emergencies are of high frequency of occurrence. Lack of professional knowledge is one of the main causes of emergency response failure. Therefore, emergency decision support system is imperative for the reduction of disaster losses and the efficiency improvement of emergency resources allocation. Based on the analysis of emergency decision-making process, the group decision support system (E-GDSS) framework is designed and the main functions of the system are defined which include case querying system, emergency assessment system and so on. A prototype system is developed in the context of public health emergencies. Practical application shows that the E-GDSS can provide information services for the emergency management and decision support. Finally we point out our future research directions.

  • The frame design of prefecture-level post-earthquake emergency decision support system

    Post-earthquake emergency decision support system was an emergency command and service system, which rapidly obtained information about the economic losses, casualties, space distribution and other situations of the disaster area and provided different decision-making suggestions needed in the earthquake relief work. The research, based on geographic information system technology, raised the design thoughts and techniques of building prefecture-level post- earthquake emergency decision support system. The research adopted the modularized overall structure, divided the system into five subsystems including foundation database, information analysis and processing, earthquake disaster losses evaluation, information interaction platform and disaster relief assistant decision making. The research explained the design thoughts of all subsystems and their main functions which need to be achieved. The research provided beneficial reference for the prefecture-level earthquake prevention and disaster reduction information construction.

  • Design and implementation for the decision support system applied in initiative logistics

    Initiative logistics(IL) is a new logistical idea and support mode aiming at the rising information war. To achieve initiative logistics in wartime, military logistics department needs to predict the consumed material in battlefield and deal with the numerous data about the resources it has. Better tools for utilizing both quantitative and qualitative information are strongly needed. To help meet that need, we construct a decision support platform for the logistics department of division and brigade level. This platform combines with wargame technology based on the traditional decision support system, and makes it more accord with initiative logistical needs. The paper covers the overall approach to the design and implementation of this system; outlines its key features; and, briefly describes its current status and the plans for its further development.
