Detecting and visualizing web design patterns

2010 The 2nd International Conference on Computer and Automation Engineering (ICCAE), 2010

The focus of this paper is on Human-Computer-Interaction (HCI) design patterns and, specifically, Web design patterns as a subcategory of HCI design patterns. These patterns are generally expressed in a textual format, which is semi-formal. The lack of formal structure causes problems in the process of reverse engineering regarding HCI aspects. Generating detected web design patterns in a formalized format ...

Responsive Web Design According to the Resolution

2015 8th International Conference on u- and e-Service, Science and Technology (UNESST), 2015

  • Research on Web Design Style Based on Digital Technology

Research in this paper is carried out based on the discussion on web design style in teaching material "Web Design" (Yi Zhang, 2015) written by the writer. On the basis of original research, this paper has analyzed the important role of digital technology development played in the evolution of web design style, divided the 21 web design styles discussed in this book into six categories of generalized type, classic type, time type, regional type, artistic type and niche type and expected to understand the web design style in a better way, provide more reference and space for web design and improve the web design level.

  • Detecting and visualizing web design patterns

The focus of this paper is on Human-Computer-Interaction (HCI) design patterns and, specifically, Web design patterns as a subcategory of HCI design patterns. These patterns are generally expressed in a textual format, which is semi-formal. The lack of formal structure causes problems in the process of reverse engineering regarding HCI aspects. Generating detected web design patterns in a formalized format is, therefore, seriously required. Based on the approaches taken for detection and visualization of Web design patterns implemented via hyperlinks, the Interactive Design Patterns Detect (IDPDetect) system, which detects the occurrence of web design patterns in a web page through static analysis of the web page source code and visualizes detected web design patterns via UML class diagrams, is developed.

  • Responsive Web Design According to the Resolution

When smart phones are now commonly distributed, the web accessibility through a mobile has invigorated. Not just because of smart phones, but because so many devices with various resolutions are available in the market, information cannot be correctly displayed on the web of the previous PC and an appropriate web matching with each resolution should be presented. This thesis will suggest a responsive web design optimized to correctly deliver the same information on all devices by changing a layout according to each resolution by using a single source through a media query. This is expected to raise the effect of advertisement by attracting attention of the public with a simple and comfortable design.

  • The Dictator and the Web Design

As Web technology moved from the laboratory to the public sphere, website design moved from being the product of a single individual to become the responsibility of a group.

  • The Concept of WEB Design Patterns Based on the Website Design Process

To enable the website builders with different knowledge background to build the website rapidly without dependence on any software, "Cloud computing" is utilized to resolve this problem. The enterprise websites' current situation and development data obtained from the survey show that enterprise websites occupy a majority share in the websites world. This phenomenon reflects the enterprises attach great importance to the Internet. But parties of these websites do not take good effects. This paper analyses the problems and reasons of present enterprise websites from eight aspects. Through the research of present websites design process, the article introduces the new concept of SAAS to presuppose the design patterns of future websites. These website design patterns can avoid the earlier learning work for the website design and make any one who has different major, different knowledge background and different age build the website without any further learning. Thus the high effective interaction can be implemented.

  • Web design education based on gamification

Implementation of gamification is very broad, all sectors of life can implement the concept of gamification, including the education sector. Jagoanilmu.com use based gamification design criteria, certificate, leaderboard, quiz, badge and free course. Web design based gamification to make understand the lessons better, and reduce stress players.

  • Evaluating Responsive Web Design's Impact on Blind Users

Recent studies show that websites complying with accessibility guidelines can still be ineffective, inefficient, and unpleasant. Compliance with accessibility guidelines does not guarantee blind users' satisfaction when accessing websites. Meanwhile, in recent years, websites have undergone radical changes regarding design, development, and construction. Responsive design is a new trend that has a strong impact on web design. To determine blind users' experience with responsive design, the authors performed empirical tests to investigate the impact of responsive design on the emotions of blind users during web interactions. They measured user emotions by applying the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) instrument. Results show that although the responsive websites investigated had acceptable levels of accessibility, they posed numerous usability barriers and triggered intense, negative user emotions. Furthermore, the average number of negative emotional reactions for blind users was higher in the case of responsive web design than in the case of nonresponsive web design.

  • Responsive web design commitment by the web developers in Palestine

Responsive web design is an approach for browsing a particular web page perfectly on different devices without resizing, panning, and scrolling the page, it is emerged in 2013 with the use of smartphones in accessing the internet, it becomes an interested to web developers after the increasing in the use of tablets, phones and smartwatches in the internet access. This paper will shed more light on this important approach and the latest updates in it and then study the commitment of web developers in Palestine with this approach, where the top 20 sites in Palestine studied and we found that 40% of them are not responsive, after that a website was created and tested, the created site complies with the principles of responsive web design.

  • Practical application of WAI guidelines in Web design

Accessible Web design is not very complicated to accomplish, but several aspects have to be considered. By using an example page, the process of transforming a not accessible page into an accessible one is demonstrated. This includes the evaluation of the current Web site and several steps of redesign like the overall design, textual equivalents, style sheets, language, hyperlinks, as well as obsolete, revised, and new elements. We also show some problems in this field, often caused by browsers not compliant with current standards. In addition to the sample page, we show the influences of accessible Web design on two projects, the eGovernment Intelligent Portal and a redesign of our institute's Web site.

  • Responsive web design mode and application

Responsive web design have receive a popular attention in recent years because of they can meet a variety of internet terminals resolution. This paper will discuss how to use Media Queries, Bootstrap responsive navigation, and layout of streaming technology to achieve responsive web design. And make a rational analysis about responsive web development at the present stage.
