The 2020 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics (SMC 2020) will be held in Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC), Toronto, Ontario, Canada. SMC 2020 is the flagship conference of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society. It provides an international forum for researchers and practitioners to report most recent innovations and developments, summarize state-of-the-art, and exchange ideas and advances in all aspects of systems science and engineering, human machine systems, and cybernetics. Advances in these fields have increasing importance in the creation of intelligent environments involving technologies interacting with humans to provide an enriching experience and thereby improve quality of life. Papers related to the conference theme are solicited, including theories, methodologies, and emerging applications. Contributions to theory and practice, including but not limited to the following technical areas, are invited.

The aim of this paper is to examine the current practices in supply chain management (SCM), in terms of supply chain integration (SCI), supply chain visibility (SCV) and information sharing (IS) among supply chain (SC) partners. The paper presents key areas of interests, in particular some of the SC uncertainties and risks faced by organizations; and state of play of SCV, SCI and IS in organizations. The methodology adopted in this research is a deductive reasoning approach, through a survey questionnaire for data collection and presentation of statistical data analysis with a series of hypotheses. The research, based on survey data across 64 organisations, found that SCV and SCI are affected by the size of an organization. Further, it was evident from statistical data analysis that the level of management and the number of end-to-end SC partners play a critical role in redesigning internal business processes to meet and sustain required SCV. Furthermore, SCV impacted on the outcomes of SCI such as a shift in power bases along the SC and the level of SCI determines the level of IS among SC partners. The paper concludes that influence of the organization size on SCV and SCI; and interplay between SCV, SCI and IS as well as their effects on outcomes can be used as a recommended guide for better managing of some of the SC uncertainties and risks faced by Australian organisations.
In recent years, competition is no longer between organizations, but among supply chains. Organizational competences, such as relational competence, top management support and information technology (IT) competence, have been recognized as critical factors to promote supply chain collaboration for obtaining supply chain performance. In this paper, we intend to extend the stream of research in supply chain management (SCM) by systematically identifying the antecedents and consequences of supply chain integration and supply chain collaboration between supply chain partners. We empirically tested the research model using data collected from senior managers of 122 manufacturing firms in South Korea. The results indicate that relational competence, top management support and IT competence in supply chain were positively related to supply chain integration and supply chain collaboration, however, supply chain integration was not directly related to supply chain performance, but indirectly related to supply chain performance through supply chain collaboration. Results suggest that collaboration between supply chain partners provides greater effect on supply chain performance than supply chain integration.

The purpose of this paper is to empirically investigate the relationship between two types of supply chain integration (i.e. internal integration and external integration) and two supply chain strategies (i.e. lean and agile). The regression analyses of the survey data from 604 manufacturing companies in China show that both lean and agile have significant positive effect on supply chain integration.

Electronic service plays a more and more significant role in today's business. With e-business emerging as a key enabler to drive supply chains, the focus of supply chain management has been shifted from production efficiency to customer-driven and partnership synchronization approaches. Nowadays, it is popular to focus on the so called ldquocore competition abilityrdquo and most of the non-core business is outsourced. But actually, supply chain integration is more efficient than the operation of single enterprise. In this paper, we analysis the value source of electronic supply chain and study a typical supply chain consists of the material supplier, the manufacturer, the distributor, and the retailer. After that, three classes of optimization patterns are developed based on value analysis, including SM pattern, MD pattern and SMD pattern. We define these three patterns and analysis their characteristic and advantages, and basing on above study, the application of these patterns are proposed.
This research article primarily investigates supply chain integration with an emphasis on the use of B2B ecommerce as an organizational strategic tool for improving supply chain performance. The balanced scorecard (BSC) approach was adopted to measure the impact of e-business strategy on supply chain integration. The related perspectives of BSC were discussed and coded to explore the influence of the critical factors of B2B e-commerce on supply chain integration. Six international companies were selected and analyzed. NVivo is a tool enabling qualitative data analysis software and it is used to conduct sophisticated data coding as well as supporting various ways to build theories and models. The result of our study are shown and these draw on various theoretical perspectives derived primarily from the synthesis of the multiple data would be used in the analysis of the findings from the empirical case study investigation.
Based on the assumption that the higher the integration between the actors the higher the competiveness of the whole supply chain, we adopted an supply chain management approach in the analysis of the port in transportation networks. By reviewing of the literature and data concerning the ports and maritime transportation sector, this paper puts forward the model of logistics and supply chain integration, which provides the framework for port managers and decision makers to face with the higher integration challenge.
