Blockchain contract: Securing a blockchain applied to smart contracts

  • Design of research management system based on workflow and rapid development platform technology

    According to some reasons, such as multifarious, low efficiency status of scientific research management work by artificial way, furthermore, big workload and poor adaptability of requirement change exists in traditional software development method. In this paper, a typical model of scientific research project management process was build based on workflow technology. The business logic and specific function of project management were designed separately, so a unified and orderly management of scientific research project was realized, and flexibility and system adaptability were enhanced too. Rapid development platform technology was chosen in the business system development. This technology affords a develop mode of parameter customization and it could manage intelligence report, data maintenance, Model View Controller (MVC) service control and other parameters. Compared to the traditional programming development mode, a complex and high quality business system can be developed conveniently and fast.

This paper claims that the risks may be encountered during the execution of the contract for the project contract, and puts forward some suggestions for the risk management.

  • Design and Implementation of Production Planning Management System Based on SSH

    In order to effectively improve the development efficiency of manufacturing enterprises production management systems, and reduce the costs of development and maintenance, this article aims to propose a solution of B/S architecture based on SSH, which is based on the software requirements of the process of production procedure and data statistics analysis of a large state-owned steel enterprise, and through researching the Struts, Spring and Hibernate framework mechanism. According to the principle of the MVC3 layer architecture, the solution uses Hibernate technology to carry out bottom package for database operation, realizes the controller layer with Struts technology, separates and encapsulates the business logic of the production procedure with Spring technology according to the low coupling standard. At last, a real-time monitoring application system with features of human-computer interaction and constantly monitoring the entire production procedure line is designed, which improves the timeliness and controllability of the whole process from product planning, production, sales and delivery. The case shows that the SSH fusion architecture reduces the application complexity and coupling, and improves the development efficiency and maintainability of the system and enhances the scalability of the system in building complex business systems.

  • A Dispute Arbitration Protocol Based on a Peer-to-Peer Service Contract Management Scheme

    Cloud computing has provided an attractive model for business service delivery. However, accountability aspects, mainly the monitoring of the execution of a service contract, liability assignment and dispute arbitration are still lacking. On the one hand, the traditional centralized monitoring and the trusted-third party (TTP) based arbitration solutions are not suitable for the distributed cloud environment. On the other hand, a decentralized solution also faces challenges in guaranteeing fairness, accuracy and sustainability. To address this issue, this paper firstly proposes an innovative service contract management scheme that facilitates the monitoring of the execution of a service contract in a peer-to-peer environment, inspired by the concept of blockchain in Bitcoin. Secondly, on top of the scheme it presents a novel dispute resolution protocol based on the Byzantine agreement and the commitment scheme. Thirdly, it identifies the optimal settings of the key parameters of the protocol through a set of experiments and scenario analysis, aiming to strike the balance of fairness, accuracy, incentive maximization for the honest arbiters and cost minimization for the overall arbitration process. With this approach, service participants can be held accountable in a truly distributed environment without the presence of a central authority, which increases businesses confidence on adopting cloud services.

  • Domain specific language for specifying operations of a central counterparty

    Domain Specific Language (DSL) approach empowers effectve financial contract management through fixed and precisely defined set of combinators and observables. Haskell Contract Combinator Library (HCCL) follows DSL approach and it offers a flexible mechanism in composing Financial Contracts(FCs). Financial institutes such as banks, use FCs. Central Counterparty(CCP) is one such financial institute and this institute is highly regulated one. Out of all operations, “Margin Calculation”(MC) operation in CCP, consider to be most significant operation. The process of MC involves series of rules to follow. For example, a rule could specify, transfer of money if certain condition met by a given date. All these rule specify a form of probable future cash flow. In the research literature, the DSL approach has not explored in the context of CCP rules. In our research, we analyzed a contract that goes through CCP operations and we modeled series of FCs using HCCL clearly showing the steps and cash flow semantics. In our research, we defined two new data types Instrument and Trade that embodies and preserve the properties of FCs. Through our research we proved the hypothesis that, HCCL could be use in defining CCP rules and as a result we could use HCCL in the process of MC. We introduced a ”seed” contract to simulate the contract behaviour in our design methodology. We further explored the HCCL defined CCP rules in the context of financial contract management.

  • A delphi approach to identifying the severity of downtime influence factors impacting naval ship operational availability — does the Panel Demographic Impact the Expert Opinion?

    High Operational Availability of Naval vessels remains a challenge to many navies worldwide despite increasing and novel approaches to availability. Numerous literatures are published on concepts of availability optimization, nevertheless so far there has been limited holistic research into the combined human and equipment root causes of naval vessel unavailability caused by the various downtime or simply put the naval Downtime Influence Factors (DIFs). To overcome the literature shortage a Delphi approach into the DIFs for the Royal Malaysian Navy In-Service Support for Patrol Vessels was carried out to shed light into unavailability causes and to pinpoint the areas of improvement. In the first stages of the Delphi study a panel of 30 professionals directly involved in naval ship maintenance was selected. A common criticism of the Delphi technique highlights that the selection of experts significantly influences the outcome of the studies. This research analyses via descriptive statistics whether the demographics of the expert sample had an impact on the outcome of the expert opinion, concluding that in most cases neither gender, designation, years of experience, organization type or qualifications impacted the weightage of importance allocated to each DIFs explaining outliners where applicable.
