  • On an operator theory of linear systems with pure and distributed delays

    A representation theory based on convolution operations is developed for a large class of linear systems containing pure and distributed delays in state and control. In terms of this framework a necessary and sufficient condition and a sufficient condition are given for functional (null) controllability. The conditions involve the generation of modules defined over a convolution ring of functions.

  • Transcription of algorithms used for fault-diagnosis of digital systems into computer programs

    There are several algorithms for fault diagnosis of digital systems which are used throughout academic and industrial environments. Among those algorithms, TMEAS and SCOAP find particular appeal because of their simplicity in calculating testability of a given digital circuit and in imparting useful information to test engineers regarding the test-locations most vulnerable to occurrence of stuck-at-zero and stuck-at-one faults. In this paper, we have presented summary of TMEAS and SCOAP techniques and then presented results of simulations based on these techniques using a software developed by us. Testability calculations, using the developed software, for a few test circuits are also outlined.

  • On the controllability of composite systems

    This correspondence presents a result on the controllability of two interconnected linear systems. Specifically, it is shown that the cascade connection of two controllable systems can always be made controllable by static output feedback around the second system, if this system is also observable.

  • Relative controllability and minimum energy control of linear systems with distributed delays in control

    The first part of this correspondence is devoted to a study of controllability of linear time-varying systems with distributed delays in the control. The controllability matrix for these systems is defined, and the necessary and sufficient condition for relative controllability of the considered systems are derived. In the second part the problem of minimum energy control is studied, and the explicit formula for control law is also given.
