  • Optimizing the correction of MCQ test answer sheets using digital image processing

    Today, multiple choice tests due to their benefits have become one of the most common methods to evaluate student's learning. In order to correct their answer sheets by the machines, very expensive equipment is necessary. Despite high correction accuracy of this method, because of some limitations, it's not suitable for public use such as schools. To overcome these limitations, attempts have been made to provide alternative correction system, but the main challenge in the machinery correction method and proposed alternative correction systems is that if the tester marks the option on the answer sheet incompletely, it will not be corrected properly. This recognition error affects on the correction accuracy. This article proposes an optimized correction method for correcting multiple choice test answer sheets using mathematical morphology, thresholding and neighborhood that with the increase of the recognition rate for incompletely marked options will improve overall correction accuracy.

    At present, the medical management technology has many secure drawbacks, such as, the X-ray transparency leaks user privacy, access to view the medical privacy record is not strictly controlled, infusion confirmation is without technical authentication, patient wrist identity (ID) is easy to be forged, payment is not convenient and so on. This paper first analyzes the present situation of medical management technology and its security defects, and then discusses the possibility of applying quick response (QR) code to secure medical management and improve medical management security through utilizing visual secret sharing (VSS) technology and the convenience of QR code. Finally, aiming at overcome the above secure defects in the current medical management technology, several schemes based on QR code secure technology are designed or applied to improve the security of the above medical management applications.

    In recent years, as the security incidents about agricultural product have frequently occurred at home and abroad, there has been widely attention to the issue of the quality and safety of agricultural product. To solve problem of the quality and safety of agricultural product, establishing the traceability of agricultural systems become more urgent and important. This paper presents a general framework and designs of the main functions of the system, analyzing the key techniques of system functions. The system takes the technology of RFID, environment monitoring, geographic information, bar code, coupled with data transmission and computer technology. The system not only allows consumers to learn more about agricultural products, but also for production management and quality control of agricultural products provides a good platform.

  • Increase Capacity of QR Code Using Compression Technique

    The main objective of this research work is to enhance the data storage capacity of the QR codes. By achieving the research aim, we can visualize rapid increase in application domains of QR Codes, mostly for smart cities where one needs to store bulk amount of data. Nowadays India is experiencing demonetization step taken by Prime Minister of the country and QR codes can play major role for this step. They are also helpful for cashless society as many vendors have registered themselves with different e-wallet companies like paytm, freecharge etc. These e-wallet companies have installed QR codes at cash counter of such vendors. Any time when a customer wants to pay his bills, he only needs to scan that particular QR code. Afterwards the QR code decoder application start working by taking necessary action like opening payment gateway etc. So, objective of this research study focuses on solving this issue by applying proposed methodology.

    Conventional libaray adapt work mode of bar code and magnetic stripe, so operrational is very complex, and efficiency is lower, and RFID can enhance work efficiency of management circulation of and collection. Libaray intelligent management system can enhance speed and veracity of information processing, and improve efficency of work.

  • The financial impact of using RFID in healthcare

    This paper is emphases on the financial impact of RFID system on the healthcare. The main obstacle of RFID implementation is the high costs hence the area of application must be very selective. We decide on the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department (OGD), where the patient has many visits during three different periods: Pregnancy, Delivery and after Childbirth. This research conducted over two years to collect real data for two different scenarios, traditional versus RFID systems. The reductions in waiting times for each period are valued into money. The RFID technology can significantly improve the processing times associated with medical record retrieval, dispensing medication, personnel management and billing. This analysis is planned for a period of 5 years with discount rate of 4%. Finally, the net present value concept is applied in order to compare the financial benefit of two systems and to obtain the payback period.

    Population aging is a global issue that affects many developing countries such as Taiwan. The natural decline in physical function with aging leads to an increase in incidences of various chronic diseases in elderly individuals; most patients with chronic diseases need to take medications over a prolonged period of time in order to stabilize their conditions. Ensuring that the patients consume the right medication at the appropriate time becomes crucial. This paper proposes a smart pill box equipped with a camera and based on the medicine bag concept. The matrix bar code printed on the medicine bags is used to interact with the pill box in order to perform pill remind and confirm functions.
