    Bayes' theorem allows us to determine the probability of an event when another event directly related to it occurs. Thus, the hypothesis about the object under investigation undergoes transformation in the process of receiving new information. This transformation occurs by increasing or decreasing the confidence in the original model data. This determines the relevance of the topic in matters of the influence of the subjective opinion of the auditor and the possibility of obtaining error in the audit, which leads to an incorrect evaluation of the financial statements of the organization.

    The paper presents the results of intelligent information system development for bankruptcy risk assessment of the enterprise on the basis of fuzzy logic and neural network technologies synthesis. It is presented information system content and structure as well as some work features. The developed information system not only allows making current bankruptcy risk assessment of the enterprise but also gives an opportunity to trace how it changes when one or some indicators with improper current values change their values. Implementation of such capability allows simulating development, selecting an appropriate way to normalize a bankruptcy risk level and making timely managerial decision.

  • Model assessing the sustainability of industrial enterprise development based on real option dynamic management model of innovations generations

    The purpose of this research was to form an effective model for assessing the sustainability of an industrial enterprise development. Regression analysis of macroeconomic indicators time series have shown that the sustainability development of industry primarily depends from the financial stability of industrial enterprises. In that time, main drawback of financial condition evaluation models is their momentary properties. This was proved by analysis of 13 most popular models. All of them have shown the low efficiency of predictions. These models have been disaggregated, and was formed the system of evaluating the financial condition, based on available indicators. Each indicator has a standard value. Standard values are reflected the specific of industry. The research have shown that new system is more efficient than examined models. Next, the authors created a forecasting tool of the indicators. This tool is based on the theory of “real options”. Based on the projected algorithm for assessing the sustainability of the industrial enterprises development, was developed a tool for recommendations formulating for the adoption of managerial decisions. It was called “The octant of sustainability development of enterprises”.

Eleven months later, those roughly 1700 patents (together with 655 patent applications) sold for just $94 million-less than the licensing fees Kodak had collected in its worstever year in recent history. What's more, the company licensed its remaining 20 000 patents to a dozen leading technology companies for only $433 million, severely restricting future earnings from them.

We model such overloaded scenario as a bankruptcy problem and apply two strategies to define how resources should be allocated. The simulation results show that our approaches present improvements in terms of energy efficiency, impact control of M2M over Human-to-human (H2H) and define priority among different classes of device.

  • Dynamic RACH distribution for M2M massive access in LTE-A

    Machine-to-machine communication (M2M) is a core element for the Internet of Things (IoT). The Long-Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-A) is expected to become a potential access network for M2M devices. However, M2M communication poses some challenges to LTE-A, with highlight to the congestion and overload problems in the Radio Access Network (RAN) during the Random Access Channel (RACH) procedure. In this paper, we propose two solutions to mitigate the impact of M2M communication in the context of LTE-A network. More specifically, we model how the random access resources should be allocated to the different types of devices as a bankruptcy problem. In addition, we propose solutions for the bankruptcy problem using a game theory and an axiomatic strategy. The simulation results show that our approaches present improvements in terms of energy efficiency, impact control of M2M over H2H accesses and define priority among the different classes of devices.

  • Comparative Analysis of Support Vector Machine: Employing Various Optimization Algorithms

    Support Vector Machines (SVMs) have proved to be good alternative compared to other machine learning techniques specifically for classification problems. The use of optimization methodologies plays a central role in finding solutions of SVMs. In this paper, we present a comparative analysis of study of standard SVM implementing Quadratic Programming (QP) in comparison with SVM employing Evolutionary Algorithm (EvoSVM) and Particle Swam Optimization (PSOSVM) to solve the quadratic optimization problem of SVM. Two class classification problems pertaining to Wisconson Breast Cancer and Bankruptcy prediction using Spanish Banks, Turkish Banks and US Banks data have been analyzed in this study. Based on the datasets used in this study and the results yielded, it is observed that standard SVM outperform other variants of SVM.

  • Some Methods for Estimating Financial Risks in Banking

    This paper is devoted to the investigation of the possibilities of using neural networks, Altman model and linear regression for Z-score and Beta index prediction. These methods could be used for evaluating the probability of bankruptcy for companies-borrowers, individuals, portfolio of credits and the bank in whole. In this work Z-score was predicted for Bank of America based on Altman model and the best model for its forecasting was neural network backpropagation with the configuration (2,3,3,3,3,3,3,3,3,2). In future research is planning to make the further investigation of the possibilities to use the other data mining methods for evaluating the probability of risk and forecasting of expected losses after its appearance.

  • Ordering strategies for supply chain financing based on the newsboy model

    This paper applies the supply chain financial management to deal with the cash constraints of the newsboy model. Considering the credit line and bankruptcy risk of the retailer, we analyzed the optimal orders of the retailer. In the new model, the sales of the product, financing interest and credit period are also considered. Then, we solve the model and obtain a series of useful management conclusions through sensitivity analysis and comparison with the classical newsboy model. The proposed model provides a new method for the retailers to administrate the cash and inventory.

  • Characteristics of Corporate Wilful Default

    Loan default has created a major crisis in Indian banking system. As the Basel norms are on the verge of implementation, the loan default has made it hard for banks to attain their capital adequacy ratio. Most of the defaults that have occurred comes under “wilful default”. This paper aims to study financials of companies who are under wilful defaulter's category. This paper also tries to study the trends in various elements of Altman's Z score and Ohlson O score which are used to identify bankruptcy. Financials of 47 companies operating in India, which had wilful default to the extent of more than 100 crore rupees, were taken using the data obtained from CMIE Prowess IQ database. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and trends were obtained.
