In this paper, an Bolt based Internet of Things (IoT) system has been devised to monitor in real time the basic pollutants like Carbon dioxide, Carbon mono oxide, Particulate matter, in indoor environment of university premises. Bolt based IoT system provides pollution level information directly to smart device in real time. In the later segment of the paper, authors have also suggested the measures to improve the quality of air for better health of the students that may positively impact their academic performance.

  • Indoor Air Quality Monitoring and Controlling System based on IoT and Fuzzy Logic

    Air pollution is one of the biggest health challenges in the world. Indoor air pollution is 2-5 times larger than outdoors, but people still do not care about it. Currently, people open the window or use an exhaust fan to refresh the air condition inside the room. However, people sometimes are too busy to pay attention to the air quality inside the room. Therefore, automation is required to bring the air quality into the required level. This study discussed indoor air quality monitoring and controlling system that can monitor the air condition and control the air condition using an exhaust fan. This system used the IoT concept in conducting real-time monitoring of carbon dioxide and PM10. The proposed system has fuzzy controls that could adjust the working interval of exhaust fan automatically depends on the concentration of each pollutant. Experiment results show that the proposed system shows excellent performance in controlling indoor air quality in terms of pollutant concentrator, AQI, and processing time to remove the pollutants.

However, the scope of the regulation and control of this announcement is limited to the entrance, the hall, and the waiting area. The purpose of this study was to conduct a comprehensive survey on a chain of Karaoke Club and analyze the different properties of the hall and box space by comparing the data of formaldehyde, TVOC, CO2, and other factors.

  • Design and implementation of an IoT based indoor air quality detector with multiple communication interfaces

    Indoor air quality monitoring has attracted increasing attention with the rapid development of industrialization and urbanization in the modern society as people typically spend more than 80% of their time in indoor environments. A novel indoor air quality detector (IAQD) integrated with multiple communication interfaces has been designed, built, programmed deployed and tested in order to meet the requirements of wide variety of scenarios. The IAQD measures the indoor air quality data, including temperature, humidity, CO2, dust and formaldehyde timely. With state-of-the-art Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, the IAQD is integrated with Modbus, LoRa, WiFi, GPRS and NB-IoT communication interfaces, which enables to be applied to wired communications, short-range wireless communications, and remote transmission to the cloud. The designed software in cloud allows users to track the indoor air quality of their home or office or industries everywhere. The performance IAQD is evaluated in terms of packet loss rate and time delay. The evaluation of IAQD are demonstrated and analyzed within the office environment over a week. Experimental results show that the proposed system is effectiveness in measuring the air-quality status and provide excellent consistency and stability.
