  • A novel islanding detection method based on positive feedback between active current and voltage unbalance factor

    Islanding detection is one of the most important functions in the photovoltaic power generation system. Conventional passive islanding detection methods suffer from the existence of non-detection zone, while active islanding detection approaches are devastating to power quality. To realize the detection of the non-detection zone and devastating, a novel islanding detection method based on positive feedback between active current and voltage unbalance factor is proposed. By detecting the voltage unbalance factor at the point of common coupling (PCC) to determine islanding and setting the determined condition of false islanding to avoid incorrect operation under false islanding situation. Theoretical analysis and simulations are conducted according to IEEE Std.1547, and the results indicate that the proposed method can detect the islanding rapidly and effectively in the worst case and avoid incorrect operation under false islanding.

It is inevitable that some of these simplifications and their underlying assumptions will be open to challenge. The features that have been incorporated in the simulation and the limitations are discussed.<>

Simulation results are presented to illustrate the performance of designed sliding mode depth control.

  • Methods for assessing tactical decisionmaking in battle

    A method is described for assessing military command decisionmaking using simulation experiments and dynamic simulation modelling, along with some typical results. The simulation studies have been carried out in the Research, Engineering, and Systems Analysis (RESA) facility. RESA is a facility for presenting large-scale, event-driven battle simulations with realistic scenarios. The RESA facility has been used primarily for training naval battle force staffs and for studies of advanced sensor and weapons concepts. The author's interest was to use the RESA facility for man-in-the-loop studies to determine the cognitive and decision processes of warfare commanders during battle. The simulation experiments measured the overall effectiveness of the C/sup 3/I system with the performance of the commanders as its principal determining factor. The aim of the research program is to improve the design of future C/sup 3/I systems by identifying and ameliorating human information processing and decisionmaking problems associated with critical battle decisions.<>

  • Extension sliding mode control for nonlinear systems

    This paper presents a novel extension controller based on a scheme for sliding mode control. The control strategy of the proposed controller is classified in two parts. One is the equivalent control of sliding mode control, which can be directly obtained from the knowing nominal system. The other is the well-known robust control, which is used to compensate for the system uncertainty and external disturbance. Integrating the essential concept of extension set theory with the sliding mode control, we can easily realize the robust extension controller. In this study, we first organize a basic extension controller without any specific expert knowledge about the controlled system. According to the determined extension characteristic functions, the functions supervise system states' information under control. A set of parameters, which will be adapted using adaptation strategy, is incorporated into the extension controller such that a robust control, also called a hitting control, is established to guarantee the system's robust stability. As a result, the proposed extension controller is stable in the Lyapunov sense. Finally, we use the proposed extension controller to control a nonlinear system to verify its effectiveness and ability.

  • Study on Simulation Credibility Control of Command System

    According to the simulation credibility problem, based on the theory of complex system simulation credibility, systematically analyzed the data, model, simulation system and the simulation results on the influence factors of the command system simulation credibility. By simulating the process for the credibility of the control the basic method, explored from the simulation scheme design, boundary conditions, model and the simulation results to deal with command and control system simulation credibility, validation and application.

  • Drive performance evaluation of linear switched reluctance motor using a current source inverter

    This paper presents drive performance evaluations of a linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) driven by a current source inverter (CSI). First, we describe a new drive circuit with CSI for the LSRM drive. For deliberations of drive performance evaluations, a simulation model is built by a circuit simulator. The drive performances of the LSRM with the proposed drive circuit are compared with a traditional voltage source inverter. As a result, it is confirmed that a deterioration of thrust with increase in velocity and an efficiency characteristics are improved by using the proposed drive circuit.

  • Hardware-in-the-loop FPGA-based real-time simulation of cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverter for grid interactive photovoltaic power plant

    Requirements, for better power control and rapid devices in the field of power converters, have created many topological and control methods for power electronics. Renowned of them are the multilevel inverters topologies, who are broadly utilized as a part of high-power high-voltage applications because of their worthwhile execution contrasted with two-level inverters. The focal purpose of this paper is to evolve a control method for a 3-phase multilevel cascaded H-bridge photovoltaic (PV) inverter connected to the grid utility system with an LCL filter design using Space Vector Modulation (SVPWM) scheme. The control of the system (inverter-LCL filter) grid-connected is studied thru conventional direct-current d-q vector control strategy. Simulation results, in the SimPowerSystem / Matlab environment, demonstrate that the proposed control strategy can extend robust stability for system after changing reference parameters. An FPGA in the loop implementation of the suggested algorithm to create the switching sequences, is introduced for approval this algorithm in real time application.
