Re-examination the effects of selenium segregation on the Schottky barrier height reduction of the NiGe/Ge contact

Effect of selenium segregation on the Schottky barrier height of the NiGe/Ge interface is examined. By carefully designed experiments, ion implantation damages in Ge can be avoided so that the pure effect of Se segregation can be examined. The best result achieved in this work is 0.1 eV barrier height reduction. A 10 times contact resistivity reduction is expected.

  • Response time of amorphous selenium based photodetector driven by diamond cold cathode

    We investigated the response time of a-Se based vacuum photodetector driven by diamond cold cathode. To characterize the response time, the a-Se surface was illuminated using pulsating white light and the variation of emission current from diamond field emitter was measured on an oscilloscope. The results show that there is a relationship between the response time, measured through the time constant, and the quantum efficiency. As the quantum efficiency increases, the detector time constant decreases.

  • Design and Implementation of Coverage Testing System Based on Python

    In order to improve the testing efficiency of radio and television signal and improve the measuring conditions of coverage test, we designed a coverage testing system. The system can capture field strength data quickly and accurately and obtain the GPS information of the test points in real time. Considering the great impact of the field strength and geographic information on the results of wireless coverage test, a storage format which can combine the information of the two is designed. Then the field strength is displayed on the map. The system has the advantages of simple operation, small volume, low power consumption, and no need for additional modification of test vehicle.

  • Classification of Turkish Universities by quantity and titles of Academic Staff

    In this study, universities are clustered based on the quantity and title of the academics employed by Turkish Universities. The data comes from both state and private universities and vocational schools. For clustering, partitional and hierarchical clustering methods were used. The dataset was obtained from the YOK academic search website using “web scraping” techniques implemented by the authors. Agglomerative clustering technique was found to yield better results regarding cluster sizes and intracluster distances. The Silhouette coefficient is used for clustering quality measurement. As a result of the study, Turkish universities were mainly composed of four clusters. These are instructor dominant universities, just instructor based vocational schools, professor and associate professor dominated universities and research assistant dominated universities. The results of this study may be used for academic staff employment planning in Turkish Universities.

In an initial experiment, the resulting Voice Controlled Accessibility and Testing tool (VCAT) prototype for Chrome and Selenium yielded a lower overall runtime than a traditional test creation approach.

  • SmartDriver: Extension of Selenium WebDriver to Create More Efficient Automated Tests

    The SmartDriver framework is an open extension of Selenium WebDriver framework aimed at decreasing implementation and maintenance costs of automated tests. It composes from two principal modules working in synergy. The structuring module ensuring three layer architecture of reusable objects, page objects and tests. Besides decreasing of implementation and maintenance costs, this module allows to create tests which can be easily read by testers or business analysts without previous extensive programming knowledge. The maintenance module then decreases time needed to update the scripts. When a test fails when locating a page element which does not exist due to obsolete test script, SmartDriver automatically analyzes if the element has been just moved to another place in the page. If so, it gives this information to the script developer.

  • Hydrogen Selenide (H2Se) Dopant Gas for Selenium Implantation

    With the continued scaling of semiconductor devices, controlling contact resistance becomes more and more challenging. Selenium (Se) ion implantation is noted in the literatures to effectively reduce contact resistance in NMOS transistors by lowering the electron Schottky barrier height (SBH). A suitable selenium source feed material is required and can be in solid form, such as selenium oxide (e.g. SeO2), or in gas form, such as hydrogen selenide (H2Se). Solid source materials in general suffer from relatively longer setup times and concern of re-deposition of the dopant, whereas hydrogen selenide gas stored at high pressure poses safety and handling issues. In this paper, we present performance and usage data associated with a subatmospheric source of H2Se, including beam setup, Se+ beam current, beam stability, and source conditions. Material properties, as well as the subatmospheric delivery source are also described.

  • Solution Processed Antimony Sulfide-Selenide [Sb2(S,Se)3] for High Efficiency Solar Cells

    This research focuses on the solution processed Sb2(S,Se)3thin film for solar cell applications. Three methods will be demonstrated for the fabrication of Sb2S3, band gap gradient Sb2(S,Se)3and homogenous Sb2(S,Se)3thin films, respectively. With appropriate device construction, power conversion efficiency of around 6% is obtained.

  • Tailoring doping of efficient Sb2Se3 solar cells in substrate configuration by low temperature post deposition selenization process

    A low temperature post deposition selenization process for Sb2Se3absorber is presented which allows to tailor the doping concentration, thus solar cell performance. Sb2Se3are grown onto Mo coated soda lime glass by e-beam evaporation and subsequently a post deposition selenization is performed which influences the selenium content of the absorber layer and therefore the formation of SeSb antisites acceptor defects which could be directly related to a change in doping density. By optimizing the selenization parameters, thus adjusting the absorber doping, solar cells in a glass/Mo/Sb2Se3/CdS/iZnO+ITO substrate configuration with up to 4.3% efficiency could be achieved.

  • Transient space-charge-perturbed current in films of poly(N-vinyl carbazole)

    In the general class of polymeric solids, poly(N-vinyl carbazole), PVK, is emerging as one of the most widely studied materials. The transport of charge injected from sensitizing layers, or internally photo-generated, has been reported.1,2,3All of these studies revealed that the drift mobility of holes in PVK, as measured by the time of flight of technique, is field dependent and is very low in value even at moderately high fields. The mobility μ is found to vary approximately as E2, with a typical value of about 10−7cm2/v sec at 105V/cm.1,3The purpose of this report is to demonstrate that this low, field dependent hole mobility manifests itself in the observation of trap-free space-charge-perturbed currents; the field and time dependence of these currents will be described.
