    The objective of this paper is to describe a procedure to evaluate system maintainability at the design stage, the results of which can support concurrent decision-making with specified maintenance requirements and the guidance of maintainability design improvement. With this purpose, maintainability indicators for decision-making and design guidance are defined based on the maintainability attributes to evaluate the system maintainability. In order to improve the objectivity and accuracy of maintainability assessment, maintainability attributes are analyzed and classified according to the view of maintenance. Then, the basic evaluation object levels and quantitative evaluation methods of maintainability attributes are presented. Based on evaluation values of maintainability attributes, the maintainability indicators are obtained using different algorithms. Finally, a case is studied to demonstrate how the proposed evaluation method can be applied in a real case.

Finally, selecting TeamCenter System and a certain type of naval gun, the integrated environment of maintainability design and analysis was realized and provided.

Then a mathematical model of maintainability growth is given and the least square method is adopted to work out the parameters of the model.     Maintainability character and index of armored equipment was analyzed in this paper, aiming at the insufficiency of traditional analysis and verification methods of maintainability, the methods of maintainability analysis and verification of armored equipment were put forward by virtual reality technology and concurrent engineering concept. The framework of virtual maintainability analysis and verification of armored equipment were studied, the basic principle and procedure of virtual analysis and verification maintainability were presented. Virtual maintainability analysis and verification effectively implemented the total optimization of equipment life cycle; they are feasible for the concurrent optimization design of equipment maintainability.

  • Small sample maintainability test data fusion method based on ML-II

    In order to solve the problem of low reliability of assessment result due to small sample size in complex system maintainability assessment, the maximum likelihood estimate (ML-II) of the second kind is introduced for parameter estimation so as to implement fusion of a small amount of the field maintainability test information with multi-source maintainability prior information and give weighing factors of various prior information based on field test information and obtain a fused prior distribution at the end. Finally, the effectiveness and feasibility of the fusion method are explained by fusion example according to certain maintainability index parameter.

  • Maintainability virtual evaluation method based on fuzzy multiple attribute decision making theory for civil aircraft system

    Maintainability evaluation is the main method to assess the maintainability level of product. Maintainability design attributes of civil aircraft are determined by analysis of maintainability influencing factors; and the calculation method of each attribute is proposed by the means of maintenance task virtual simulation, rapid upper limb assessment and maintainability checklist. In terms of multiple attribute decision-making theory, the pretreatment methods of maintainability attributes are proposed, and the comprehensive maintainability evaluation model of civil aircraft system is established based on fuzzy theory and multiple attribute decision making method in this paper. Moreover, an instance combined with comprehensive evaluation of two different types of nose landing gear system is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the model.
