  • Time Varying Covariance Equivalent Realizations

    Non stationary generalizations of the Q-Markov Covariance equivalent system realizations from input-output experimental data are presented. For applications involving the stabilization of a mechanical system about a nominal trajectory, model identification of departure motion dynamics from data involves the realization of a time varying system. Specifying the covariance properties of the time varying departure motion dynamics model, this paper develops an approach to derive discrete time varying plant models directly from the data. The utility of using second order information in identification of system matrices comes from the fact that the state error covariance can be obtained simultaneously from the data. The model error characterization properties afforded by the larger degrees of design freedom provided by the time varying covariance equivalent system realizations are discussed in the paper.

  • Mobile-openbts implementation of natural disaster victims search

    The OpenBTS network is an ideal solution for emergency GSM networks that can be quickly implemented in post-disaster situations. This thesis develops a mobile analysis system-OpenBTS for the search for victims of natural disasters. OpenBTS system built is portable, so it can be referred to as mobile-OpenBTS. Mobile-OpenBTS allows being taken using a human transport vehicle one of the SAR team vehicles, which is a vehicle in a post-disaster situation. The built system can identify the location of mobile-OpenBTS and predict the distance of the victim's location from the mobile-OpenBTS position, either directly the location of the victim is visible or invisible, in which case it is trapped in ruins or has died. People use cellular phones for mobile activities so cell phones are used to locate the victims. GPS Tracker is used for determining the location of mobile-OpenBTS, while the empirical approach is used for predicting the distance of the victim's location. The built system allows the SAR team to capture images of victims or victim's location using the SAR team's mobile phone, then photo and victim data sent and stored on mobile-OpenBTS. The final condition of the stored data will be sent to the POSCO. The process of sending data using the mobile network system-OpenBTS used. Data transmission from mobile base stations to POSCO is done auto send. All data of victims that have been sent in POSCO can be seen in the web based application.

However, while stability is well understood for 1-D systems, open problems remain in the higher dimensional case, e.g. for 3D system realizations, especially with respect to computational complexity and thus hardware effort. We propose a basic and thus fast stability test for systems that can be given in a standard 3-D Roesser-like state space model. Most practical systems can be represented in that manner or at least be transformed into an equivalent system so that the test is applicable to most real world problems. The test itself is inspired by passivity assumptions which for example guarantee stability of electrical reactance networks. It represents a sufficient condition for stability and comprises eigenvalue computations of a sum of Gramian matrices of the same size as the system matrix, which leads in this step to the same complexity as a 1-D stability test. The latter can thus also be applied to adaptive systems, where the system matrix is periodically changing.
