For the study of speech signals, this thesis adopts the basic research method of designing FIR filter to achieve the purpose of denoising speech signals. Finally, the research conclusions are obtained by combining images and playback comparison of speech signals.

  • A theory of recursive kernel RX anomaly detection algorithm for hyperspectral imagery

Real-time processing which requires immediate decision making is greatly desired in hyperspectral anomaly detection. Kernel Reed-Xiaoli detector (KRXD) is a kernel-based nonlinear version of RXD, it achieves better detection accuracy but inferior detection efficiency. This paper developments a new modified KRXD based on progressive line processing that can implement real-time detection in a line-by-line fashion. A new local causal framework is defined to remain the causality of detection system. Aiming at the defect that the complexities of KRXD is high in calculating the detection process, taking advantage of the Woodbury matrix identity and the matrix inversion lemma to recursively update the kernel Gram matrix and its inversion to meet the requirement of rapid processing. Experimental results show the proposed method significantly solves real-time processing problem and keep detection accuracy unchanged compared to the initial algorithm.

  • Automatic token allocation system through mobile in primary care

    Reservation systems use an appointment to manage access to service providers. Many factors affect the performance of appointment systems which include arrival and service time variability, patient and provider preferences, available information technology and the experience level of the scheduling staff. Thus a proper scheduling system has to developed by considering all these factors which will increase patient satisfaction, which in turn increases profit. By using low cost and low power Raspberry Pi kit. It requires Micro USB of 5V and 2A power supply only. Entire communication takes place via SMS (Short Messaging Service) which is compatible among all mobile types without internet. This server timely updates the information regarding the availability of the doctor. An SMS (short messaging service) scheduling system allows individuals to conveniently and securely book their appointments offline without any internet from any place. Compared to the usual queuing method, the SMS appointment system could significantly increase patient's satisfaction with registration and reduce total waiting time effectively. The entire work explores by using GSM based smart card CPU-Raspberry pi B+ kit. This paper focuses on detailed study of SMS appointment scheduling system with architecture and merits.

  • Structure-adaptive vector median filter for impulse noise removal in color images

    A structure-adaptive vector median filter (SAVMF) for removal of impulse noise from color images is presented in this paper. A color image is represented in quaternion form, and then quaternion Fourier transform is employed to detect the dominant orientation of the pattern in a local neighborhood. Based on the local orientation and its strength, the size, shape and orientation of the support window of vector median filter (VMF) can be adaptively computed, and thus structure-adaptive VMF is implemented. Experimental results exhibit the validity of the proposed method by showing clearly performance improvements both in noise removal and in detail preservation, compared to other VMF-based vector filters.

  • Universal windows application for the parameters calculation of shields against ionizing radiation

    Proper design of shields against ionizing radiation is a critical factor considering safety of the humans who are exposed to such radiation. In many cases, the design procedure of the shielding is well defined by the government authorities. However, up to now in Poland there was no software dedicated to such design. This study addresses people who work to prepare the design specifications for shielding in medical sites, which comply with the polish standards. In these work we would like to present a software (based on Universal Windows Platform) tool supporting automatic computation of the shield parameters.

  • ECU diagnostics validator using CANUSB

    An ECU diagnostics provides information about ECU behavior which in turn provides the overall health of the vehicle. An OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) takes necessary corrective actions for preventing accidents and hazards by detecting vehicle system's malfunction. The driver and passenger safety can be taken care with the help of diagnostics. For ECU diagnostics validation, most of the OEMs, Tier-1, and Tier-2 use a Vector Tool “CANoe” during ECU development phase. The CANoe is very powerful tool. However, its cost is ~ €10,000. The proposed system can be used to perform the similar functionality of ECU diagnostics validation during ECU development phase. It uses CANUSB as hardware interface and software developed in Microsoft C# language as application software. It is the cost-effective special tool which uses single CAN channel for transmitting and receiving various CAN messages to/from ECU. Using this tool, the diagnostic messages and vehicle messages can be simulated & sent and ECU response can be validated. The tool would be having user- friendly easy to use GUI, manual as well as cyclic auto transmission mode with message logging feature. The overall tool cost would be ~ 35,000.

  • Music genre classification using spatan 6 FPGA and TMS320C6713 DSK

    Music genre classification is one of the most important element of the music information retrieval (MIR) community. In this paper, we present a music genre classification system using field programmable gate arrays (FPGA) and dedicated DSP processors. The proposed system uses FPGA based acoustic feature extraction of mel frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCC) and dynamic time warping (DTW) based classifier using TMS320C6713 floating point processor. We successfully implemented MFCC extraction algorithm on Spartan 6 FPGA clocked at 150 MHz with support from TMS320C6713 floating point processor followed by DTW based matching engine. The paper attempts to implement music genre classification algorithm in hardware, yielding competitive performance in music information retrieval applications.
