2019 IEEE 8th International Conference on Advanced Optoelectronics and Lasers (CAOL)

CAOL*2019 will provide a forum for scientists in a wide area of laser physics, optoelectronics, optics and photonics. The conference will cover wide frontiers in laser physics, photonics, nanotechnology, material physics, nonlinear optics and optical communications. Its characteristic feature is a stronger emphasis on the mathematical, physical and technological aspects of the problems in hand, together with detailed analysis of application problems. This year in the frame of CAOL we will organize two accompanying events, the Workshop on Data Science in Modern Optoelectronics and Laser Engineering and the Workshop “Measurement Uncertainty: Scientific, Standard, Applied and Methodical Aspects” (UM*2019). DSMOLE*2019 will be dedicated to problems arising from merging of modern optoelectronics and laser engineering with data science, artificial and computational intelligence. UM*2019 will cover cutting edge developments in metrology and adjacent fields.

    The 4-nd International Conference on Advanced Optoelectronics and Lasers (CAOL'2008) will be held in Alushta, Crimea, Ukraine, from September 29 to October 4, 2008. CAOL'2008 will provide a forum for experts in a wide area of laser physics and optoelectronics. The previous conferences were successfully provided in 2003 and 2005 in Crimea, and in 2006 in Guanajuato, Mexico.

2017 IEEE HISTory of ELectrotechnolgy CONference (HISTELCON)

HISTELCON 2017 will focus mainly on the scientific incentive and development methodology aswell as the technological impact on quality-of-life of any innovation in electrical engineering andcomputing, and hence it will welcome any historic expertise of scientific and technologicalachievement, which has already been approved as an IEEE Milestone or may be a candidatefor the IEEE Milestone.As most people know, on January 17 in 1995 the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake struck Kobecity, causing the catastrophic damage of 5,500 deaths, more than 150,000 collapsed homes,and over 300,000 people evacuated to more than 1,000 shelters. Thus, hopefully HISTELCON2017 could bring significant benefits to the attendees in terms not only of acquiring technicalexpertise but also of observing miraculous post-quake recovery.


2009 IEEE Conference on the History of Technical Societies

We will invite papers on the history of the engineering profession, particularly on the role of professional societies in engineering, and emphasis will be on the technical fields served by the IEEE. We expect that historians and engineers will propose papers on publications, standards, professional ethics, and other aspects of the engineering profession. We expect that the majority of papers will deal with the history of particular professional organizations.

The present Standards on Waveguide Components, Definitions of Terms, represent an extension of the work of this committee from 1953 to 1955. Waveguide component terms have not previously been standardized by the IRE; however, with continuing development in this field the need for such definitions has become increasingly apparent. The present list comprises only the more general, basic and established terms. For example, Waveguide Transformer is defined but the many specific types of waveguide transformer such as Double Stub Transformer, Quarter-Wave Sleeve Transformer, Probe Transformer, Eccentric Line Transformer, and others are not defined. As used in the following definitions, Waveguide is a generic term which includes transmission line and uniconductor wave guides as special cases. For specific definitions see 53 IRE 2. 51.
