2020 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics (SMC)

The 2020 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics (SMC 2020) will be held in Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC), Toronto, Ontario, Canada. SMC 2020 is the flagship conference of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society. It provides an international forum for researchers and practitioners to report most recent innovations and developments, summarize state-of-the-art, and exchange ideas and advances in all aspects of systems science and engineering, human machine systems, and cybernetics. Advances in these fields have increasing importance in the creation of intelligent environments involving technologies interacting with humans to provide an enriching experience and thereby improve quality of life. Papers related to the conference theme are solicited, including theories, methodologies, and emerging applications.   • X3D Conformance Testing Factors in Creating Aviable Test Suite

    X3D is an ISO standard for real time 3D graphics. It is the successor to the Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML). The specification is available at the Web3D consortium Web site. The Web3D consortium sponsors the creation of the X3D ISO standards, and releases these standards to the Internet community free of charge. The consortium, however, requires that X3D browsers successfully complete a testing process before a certification of compliance is granted. To enable the Web3D accreditation program to proceed, the first author has led the process of creating the conformance testing suite for the X3D "interchange" profile for the Web3D Consortium. This paper focuses on: 1.The trials and pitfalls of creating a conformance testing suite for the X3D "interchange "profile; 2.Verification of the open source X3D browser (FreeWRL) to verify the test suite and to provide images for the documentation process and 3."Lessons learned" about standards writing by highlighting both successful techniques and pitfalls/omissions found in the X3D ISO standards

It is required to add the dimension of information expression, and enhance the expressive force and interaction ability of IMC interface system via three-dimensional virtual reality technology, X3D as an example. An application method of IMC interface system based on X3D technology is proposed. It use existing IMC software and hardware environment as anterior foundation, and extend control terminal to three-dimensional interaction interface in virtual reality technology. Aimed at bad ability of modeling in X3D criterion, a suit of multi-agent model of IMC interface system under X3D is proposed. Aimed at the exchange of data and command between interface system in X3D and anterior IMC environment, based on standard OPC technology, a universal frame for remote monitor and control application in X3D is proposed. Based on above works, the HMI system based on X3D is constructed.

However, other professional model for reflecting the objective laws of nature, its quantitative evaluation method does not apply to the quantitative evaluation on X3D-based ORGDM. On the basis of database research, combining with the characteristics of geospatial data model, put forward that use the superimposed calculation efficiency based on X3D-based ORGDM to quantitatively evaluate its performance space under the two different management style between comparing file system and database systems in this paper. Then, design the experiment according to the method. The experimental results objectively reflect the performance computing space of X3D-based ORGDM really. At last, we introduce the application of X3D-based ORGDM for the specific project briefly.

  • An universal frame for remote monitor and control application in X3D based on OPC

    Application of X3D virtual reality technology into remote monitor and control (IMC) system can effectively enhance the expressive force and interaction ability of interface system. Aimed at the exchange of data and command between interface system in X3D and anterior IMC environment, based on standard OPC technology, according to the implement mode of thin client ,a universal frame for remote monitor and control application in X3D is proposed. In this system, standardized interlink between interface system and data source system including database, I/O hardware, etc, can be realized. The system structure and key technologies is discussed, and an application prototype system is given also.

  • An Extension of Network Communication in X3D for Remote Monitor and Control

    X3D can be used in industrial monitor and control applications. There exist frequent vast data interactions in these applications. Standard scene access interface in X3D can't right meet it. And X3D also supports the criterion extension oriented to specified markets. This paper presents a suit of communication nodes. Based on direct-output-event mechanism and standardized protocol data, new nodes can implement a data-driven batch events transfer mode. The executing model, function model and data protocol of extended nodes are described. And among them, the net communication node is discussed as emphasis. Finally, the implementation and application for remote monitor and control based on it are also introduced.

  • X3D-Based Virtual Reality Experiences in Water Museum Exhibitions

    This paper discusses the work undertaken by the China Water Museum to develop X3D-based Water Museum Virtual Reality Experience System (WMVRES) to educate the public on water resources and the history of water. This system is to deal with difficulties in applying 3D information system in virtual reality experience, which is written in Extensible-3D(X3D) and Java. Administrators of this system manage information in 3D scene and the updated information can be saved in database automatically. Two key technologies are involved in this paper: Real-time rendering and Interaction. At the end of this paper, framework and major modules of the experience system are elaborated.

More users can remotely view from a different angle of computer accessories and install computer. A clearer understanding of the PC accessories and installation is shown.

  • Research of the optimization and utilization of computer resources based on X3D scene and SSH2 surface framework

    Traditionally, the smallest unit of virtual scene is a model. In order to make use of the computer resources, the model is generally only loaded in a certain range of the current perspective. But in the virtual scene any browser can't observe all surfaces of this model in an angle of view invariable situation. Therefore it has wasted the massive computer resources similarly [1]. This project proposes a new framework model. Firstly, the minimum division unit of the virtual scene is changed into surface and loading the visible surface within the current viewpoint and preloading surface within a certain range of the current viewpoint to construct the current scene. Again taking the current viewpoint coordinates as the center, a layer of a layer of the outer surface of the visual surface is loaded on the coordinate system to form a radar coverage network. Secondly using the background management technology based on SSH2 to realize the model unified management and combing with the foreground X3D to generate the required scenes in real time, so as to achieve the goal of reducing rendering time of the virtual scene, saving computer resources and changing old patterns of environment fixed.
