The 2020 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics (SMC 2020) will be held in Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC), Toronto, Ontario, Canada. SMC 2020 is the flagship conference of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society. It provides an international forum for researchers and practitioners to report most recent innovations and developments, summarize state-of-the-art, and exchange ideas and advances in all aspects of systems science and engineering, human machine systems, and cybernetics. Advances in these fields have increasing importance in the creation of intelligent environments involving technologies interacting with humans to provide an enriching experience and thereby improve quality of life. Papers related to the conference theme are solicited, including theories, methodologies, and emerging applications. Contributions to theory and practice, including but not limited to the following technical areas, are invited.

In order to filter useful information from internet public opinion quickly, this paper proposes a mode of using double cloud architecture and optimizes clustering algorithm to monitor the massive network information in real time. In this way, the delay of the bandwidth limitation is reduced, and the locking speed of the effective information is accelerated, which ensures the real-time and effectiveness of the big data of the monitoring of public opinion. Thereby it can provide timely information, assist decision making, and provide the feasibility of the scheme for the relevant departments to handle unexpected group events. At last, this paper carries out an experimental comparison between big data of real-time public opinion monitoring model under the double layer cloud architecture and the traditional centralized deployment algorithm, the results show that the method in this paper has a faster operating speed, strong reliability and faster convergence rate, especially with the increase of the amount of data, the advantages of the speed of convergence is more obvious.

Cloud computing has attracted more and more attentions due to its ability to deliver computing utilities as Internet services. Many industrial companies have successfully applied their Clouds with different technologies and architectures. But the existing Clouds are all computer-based and designed for Web browser. In this paper we propose a Cloud architecture which is based on digital appliances in smart home to provide IT Services that can be accessed and used by appliances users. As the vinculum that links Cloud and smart home, home gateway, which helps smart home merge into Cloud to provide more information services and access services provided by Cloud, plays a significant role in this architecture. Thus this Cloud architecture extends Cloud computing applications to a new domain so that more users could benefit from Clouds. The architecture that we propose in this paper is a conceptual model and more work need to be done to implement it.
Cloud Computing is a recent technology trend whose aim is to deliver computing utilities as Internet services. Many companies have already offered successful commercial Cloud services including SaaS, PaaS and IaaS. But those services are all computer-based and designed for Web browsers. Currently there is no Cloud architecture whose purpose is to provide special services for digital appliances in smart home. In this paper, we propose an additional Model, the smart home Cloud, which not only bases on the present Cloud architecture but also modifies the traditional Service layer to provide efficient and stable services for smart home. In contrast to the traditional Model, we bring Web service and Peer-to-Peer (P2P) technologies to the Cloud. Smart home nodes and Cloud server form a peer-to-peer network, which can help the Cloud server to reduce bandwidth pressure when transmitting higher quality audio/video signals. Smart home gateway describes their services in WSDL and registers them to the Cloud service directory so that other homes can search and consume the service. Peers (smart home) are both suppliers and consumers of services.
In recent years, massively multiplayer online games (MMOGs) become more and more popular. To increase flexibility of resource allocation, MMOGs can be integrated with cloud computing. In an MMOG cloud environment, virtual machines (VMs) in game servers are allocated to serve players, instead of game servers. A game world is divided into several game regions. Each game region is serviced by at least one VM. In addition, peer-to-peer (P2P) cloud computing has the features of high computation power, scalability, reliability and efficient information sharing of servers. In this paper, we propose a hybrid P2P cloud architecture for MMOGs which includes two-level load management, multi-threshold load management for each game server and load management among game servers. It is suitable for players to interact with P2P cloud servers and it avoids bottlenecks of the current multi-server MMOG architecture. Simulation results show that the proposed hybrid P2P cloud architecture can reduce the average response time by 20.6% compared to the multi-server architecture under medium to high load through flexible allocation of resources (virtual machines). The proposed architecture can also support 10.31% more players under no deadline (300 ms) miss compared to the multi-server architecture.
Cloud computing offers the opportunity to minimize the evaluation time of complex algorithms - e.g. needed for computational imaging - by horizontal scaling of the available computing resources. By this way, new image analyzing algorithms can be employed in weak real-time conditions, like inline quality analysis in production with time stamps in the order of several tens of seconds. The cloud offers a platform to merge sensor data of all production processes to analyze quality data comprehensively, e.g. for methods like predictive maintenance. Typically, cloud environments are applied for the Internet of things (IoT) or Big Data analysis. But IoT-applications usually generate very small data packages (like sensor values with a size much less than 1 megabyte), while BigData applications deal with very high data volume (terra- or petabyte). Image processing requires an environment, which is optimized for medium size data streaming, composed of images with a size in the lower megabyte range. In this paper, a sensor-to-cloud architecture as a platform for image processing is described. This approach is upward compatible, because it is not necessary to change the sensor hardware, e.g. if algorithms with considerable higher computing complexity are desired (like for a smart camera), so algorithms can be exchanged in the cloud without interrupting the production process.
Nowadays, in-orbit spacecraft functions and system is relatively isolated, leading to low utilization rate of space resources. Different types of satellites coordinate poorly with each other; Task planning utilizes artificial planning and manual uploading methods, leading to low flexibility and timeliness. In response to these conditions, this paper proposes a satellite cloud architecture basing on resource virtualization technology. The architecture forms a shared resource pool with non-standardized aircraft heterogeneous resources by using virtualization technology, and user could call the standardization resources to achieve various types of space missions. The architecture can effectively coordinate multi-type spacecraft resources, including information acquisition, information processing, storage, transmission and other kind of resources, to provide wide-area high-precision remote sensing, massive data processing, highly reliable storage and efficient distribution/transmission functions, which single satellite can't achieve. The architecture can change the current task planning process to improve the flexibility and timeliness, to improve the utilization of space resources, enhancing the overall application performance of spacecraft.
