With the emergence of Big Data applications and cloud computing in recent years, nowadays data centers are usually deployed with various kinds of Big Data applications and managed by resource manager such as Mesos. Mesos mainly focuses on computing resource and storage resource (CPU and memory), while ignoring network management. But research shows that efficient network resource management is crucial to optimize performance. In this work we present a network management mechanism based on SDN (Software Defined Network). This mechanism can allocate weighted network resource to different jobs based on preconfigured policy. It can allocate more bandwidth to high- priority job to optimize performance while keep the network performance isolation at the same time. We have implemented a prototype system based on SDN controller, floodlight and the experiments show that this prototype has strong usability and high expansibility.

Multicast network selection algorithm is designed by means of terminal speed and fair selection algorithm named AHP/GRA. Finally we compare the performance of the proposed mechanism with the legacy mobile multicast mechanism.

This paper introduces the characteristics of the uncertain resource objects in the network resource management and observes the current existing solutions for the uncertain resource objects. Then it proposes a new modeling that converts dynamic attributes modifications of the uncertain resource objects to the records changing in a fixed-structure table. The modeling consists of three parts: data model, storage model and processing model. It effectively implements the modifications of the uncertain resource objects in the network management without altering the network system and at the same time guarantee the normal operations of the management.
With the explosive growth of applications and application traffic, data centers networks are challenged in network utilization and network performance, which is crucial to guarantee the efficiency of computing and storage resources of data center servers. Recently, software defined network has been exploited to manage the network resource in a center controller, which provides opportunities to optimize the network resource utilization. In this paper, we analyze the challenges of the network resource management in data center with software defined network, and point out the opportunities.
In the current Internet, service overlay networks (SON) can provide a means for offering end-to-end quality of service (QoS) required by real time services such as VoIP, streaming multimedia and interactive games. We consider the approach where the SON operator leases bandwidth with QoS guarantees for the overlay links from Internet autonomous systems. Available bandwidth is managed by the SON admission and routing policy to provide end-to-end QoS connections to the service user. Maximizing profit is a key objective for the SON operator. In this paper, we propose a novel resource management approach which uses an economic model, including costs and revenues, to drive resource adaptations to changing network conditions, so that network profit can continuously be optimized. The approach integrates link capacity adaptations with connection admission control and routing policies based on Markov decision process theory. Numerical analysis results on a network example shows that the approach is effective at attaining maximized profit under varying network conditions
Nowadays, system and network resource management software should deal with more and more heterogeneous specific interfaces of different resource. This is a tightly-coupled management model. Recent years, Web Services have become the major technology and architecture of SOA for enterprise applications. Web Services provides a loosely-coupled management model. In this paper, based on the Web Services-based management protocol-WSManagement, we propose the distributed System and Network Resource Management Middleware Model. In this model, every managed IT resource provides the manageability interfaces via WS- Management specification. Furthermore, we utilize WSManagement Java implementation prototype-wiseman and WMI management interface to carry out the scheme implementation and test case work of the novel model, and then analyze the experiment results. At last, we analyze the prospective research direction and challenges in this field.
