    The development of high performance computing has posed a tremendous demand on storage capacity and I/O performance, storage system has entered the Petabyte era. Application demands drive the change of storage architecture. Object- based storage is becoming the new direction of massive network storage systems. Object-based storage combines the advantages of SAN and NAS, adopts an object-based interface, and offloads some work of traditional file system to intelligent object-based storage devices, so greatly enhance the performance, reliability, and scalability of storage system. On the other hand, because the storage system scale of high performance computing is very large, the amount of storage nodes is very huge, so features such as power, size and weight have been the factors that cannot be neglected. This paper aims at the key component of object-based storage system - object storage controller, and proposes a novel design of object storage controller based on SOC. Measurement results show that the object storage controller designed by us not only optimize the performance of object-based storage system, but also has advantage in the respects of power, size and weight, so it's very suit for building the object-based storage system for high performance computing.

  • An incremental intelligent object recognition system based on deep learning

    The accuracy of object recognition has been greatly improved due to the rapid development of deep learning, but the deep learning generally requires a lot of training data and the training process is very slow and complex. We propose an incremental object recognition system based on deep learning techniques and speech recognition technology with high learning speed and wide applicability. The system can learn from scratch through the way of human-computer interaction. Through the interaction of user, the system continues to improve its identification ability by updating or adding object's feature templates gradually. The types of objects that it can be identified become more and more, and recognition rate is also getting high increasingly. The GoogLeNet inception v4 network is used to extract the object features. Then the object is classified based on the extracted features by measuring the similarity between the object and its template. Experiments show that our system can identify the object accurately after the system learns about ten samples of this object. The self-learning system has a wide range of applicability and flexibility because of the incremental frame based on deep learning.

  • A new approach for intelligent object picking in line drawing images

The proposed method is based on the run-graph encoding principle and involves several key steps including: tracing the line in both positive and negative directions, recognizing line junction areas, property consistent tracing, and reconstructing line junction areas. It is shown, both in theory and experiments, that the algorithm provides a robust performance in recognizing the line junction areas and their reconstruction. By this approach, two kinds of basic raster entities could be picked up completely even in noise disrupted line drawing images.

  • Design and implementation of a vision based intelligent object follower robot

    In autonomous robot navigation system, integration of visual sensing sensor plays a vital role. In this paper a vision based differential drive object follower robot has been presented. The robot has been designed to work without any prior environmental information and without any GPS service. The object to be followed and position of the object is determined by processing a real time image feed by a camera. For stability in navigation of the robot while following object a hybrid automata model has been designed. Kalman filter has been used for tracking the object correctly.

  • Intelligent object localization system based on activity theory in home environment

    Object localization is the premise and key problem of object-operating. Aiming at the low efficiency of object localization and management, an Activity Theory based intelligent object management scheme is presented in the paper, which can arrive at the state of object through people's activity including movement trajectory and behavior. The RFID tags stuck on the object can bind the information space with physical space, thus the information space can automatically sense the changes in physical space. Object detection, body localization and action recognition are realized using real-time data provided by RFID, distributed vision and Inertial Navigation Module, combined with database of the intelligent space. Object localization oriented Dynamic Bayesian Network is built to automatically sense and update the state of object through activity analyses of people. The research can improve the precision and efficiency of object localization to a large extent, realize intelligent object localization, and has an important significance for service robot to entering home environment.

  • Intelligent object anchoring using relative anchors

    Object anchoring is a very important and useful concept, especially for robotic systems which use two different levels to represent objects, symbolic and sub-symbolic. The right sub-symbolic information acquired from sensors have to be combined with the symbolic description that points to the same physical object which is often a time-consuming and error-prone procedure, e.g. due to unsuccessful detection using machine vision. In this paper an extension of this anchoring concept is given using relative anchors which presents an intelligent object representation and allows the reduction of necessary machine vision operations. Also the inaccuracies given by the algorithms used for detection are taken into account and used to enhance the object anchoring. The concept is evaluated on a robotic system in a library scenario and the benefit is presented.
