  • IP network designer: interface for IP network simulation

    In this demonstration, we present IP network designer: interfaces for IP network simulation. The IP network designer consists of two subsystems: the IP network design workbench and a 3D simulator. IP network design workbench is intended to support a collaborative design and simulation of an IP network by a group of network designers and their customers. This system is based on a tangible user interface platform called "sensetable" and allows users to directly manipulate network topologies. Users can control parameters of nodes and links using physical pucks on the sensing table and simultaneously see the simulation results projected onto the table. 3D simulator provides a 3D view of simulation results. Users can see traffic packets flow as if they are inside the network. This system allows users to understand network behavior intuitively.

  • Development of Hands-On IP Network Construction Practice System Used in Campus Cloud Computing

    The purpose of this study is to give students a hands-on practical learning for IP network skills in campus cloud computing. It is important for students to operate network devices repeatedly to learn network skills. However, in practical learning with real network devices, students need a number of network devices. For this reason, it is not easy for students to prepare environment to be able to practice freely at any time. Therefore, we have developed a hands-on practical learning system to learn IP network skills on general performance PC. Unlike existing network simulators, this system does not require students to learn scripting language to make scenarios. This system enables students to practice network skills freely and virtually on just one PC. We have implemented this system by applying the virtual Linux environment User Mode Linux. This system consists of virtual routers, virtual hosts, and operating functions. This system is primarily intended to practice operation of routing on virtual routers. In this research, we developed new system that was designed on client server model for web services. To evaluate, this system was experimented. The results indicated that this system had sufficient performance for introductory network courses for undergraduate students.

This research aimed to conduct a performance analysis of TFRC and UDP over mobile-IP network with competing flows that enables to investigate three major performance metrics such as jitter, throughput, packet loss and packet delay. Two different transport layer protocols will be used in this analysis. Since mobility has been the core issue of computing of 21st century, hence, this research aims to contribute in this phenomena by measuring the performance analysis in mobile IP network, where mobile devices (nodes) are moved from access points to access points (AP) in order to exemplify the suitability of TFRC and UDP in wireless networking, moreover to collect data about crucial performance metrics features. The experiment was conducted by Network Simulation (NS-2).

  • Voice Quality Guaranteed Service over Best-Effort IP Network for Pervasive Environments

    Pervasive computing with voice application service must be providing unprecedented levels of technology in order to adapt the continually changed computing resources in ubiquitous environment. A number of conditions differ from the speech signal over IP network with heterogeneous devices while voice traffic is transported by packet-based in ubiquitous environment. In this paper, voice signals in packet loss and noise is controlled for the guaranteed quality of service (QoS) on the IP network which are responsible for digitizing, encoding, decoding, and playing out the speech signal. We implement the algorithms of packet loss concealment (PLC) and noise reduction, which is called PEA (pervasive environment adaptation)-PLC, PEA-noise reduction together, for providing high quality voice-based pervasive computing services. The proposed PEA-PLC algorithms are applied as post-processing after decoding on devices, and then PEA-noise reduction method is applied as pre- processing before speech coding. The proposed PEA-algorithms for packet loss and noise are applied in G.729A codec optimally using mobile-softphone and a 1-port gateway PSTN phone system. The performances of the proposed methods are evaluated by the PESQ measurement in various packet loss and noisy conditions

  • IP network-based trust management system

    Under computing environment in the global IP network, there come fraud, defamation and conspiracy and other acts. The traditional security means can not respond to such attacks, and resources, the higher the value, the greater the risk. In addition, under the existing distributed environment, there is no centralized authority to obtain all of the interactive information, which results in unreliable and uncertain risks. Trust management to solve this kind of problem recognizes the open system integrity and security information system. Security system decision-making does not require third-party feedback. This resource is the basic object of study, trust evaluation system is established to quantify from the multi-granularity, multi-point security, making the distribution system with the characteristics of trust. And the paper provides a network for a variety of complex IP security decision-making framework for a distributed environment to elaborate new ideas and methods. Finally trust management of existing technology can be able to enhanced and improved, and adapts to the diversity of open IP network security needs.

  • Novel method for fast IP network recovery

    Routing is the process of selecting path in a network along which to send network traffic. Routing is performed for many kinds of network, including the telephone network, electronic data networks, and transportation networks. it involves two basic activities: Determining best path and forwarding packets through these paths. The internet routes packet one at a time, some of these packets may be delayed for various amounts of time or even lost in transmission. So a network must be designed to continue to operate when there are failures and service or maintenance interruptions in the network. Fast IP network recovery (FINR) is strictly connection oriented. FINR guarantee that packet reach by receiver. And it is base on additional route in each router. So FINR control Bandwidth, delay, load, reliability and Security. FINR is local mechanism and calculated backup in advanced when a failure is detected; the affected packets are immediately forwarded through backup path to shorten the service disruption. And recovery after failure is less than millisecond.

  • Design and implementation of test IP network intelligent monitoring system based on SNMP

    Network monitoring system plays an important role in ensuring network security and maintaining network stability. Based on the thorough study of the application of the simple network management protocol (SNMP), a network intelligent monitoring model for test internet protocol (IP) network is designed, and a network monitoring system is developed. The system can realize the network equipment operation state monitoring, equipment performance monitoring and fault monitoring function in test IP networks at the same time. Meanwhile, the network monitoring system can realize remote real-time status query, fault alarm, network equipment maintenance tips and other functions. This system can discover the existing problems in the network during the process of real-time monitoring, and then provide the decision reference for the network managers to make trouble shooting and network maintenance by expert database to ensure the security and stability of the whole network.

  • Implementation of a multimedia communication system over IP network

    The goal of this work is to implement a multimedia communication system over IP network. The system supports the function of recording, encoding, transmitting, decoding and playing for audio and video. Our work includes three parts: the design of relative algorithms and technologies, the procedure of system implementation and result display. In the system, RTP/RTCP is used for multimedia real-time transmission and an adaptive jitter buffering control algorithm is proposed to improve continuity for audio stream by adjusting the size of jitter buffer dynamically. Finally, the system is tested in a LAN environment, which shows that the system can work stably with little packets lost and the size of jitter buffer can adjust to network dynamically.
