  • Research and application on University integrated information services

Universities have accumulated a large number of business data after many years of information construction. The hidden information under these data is the most valuable resources and also the manifestation of the real value of information systems. Therefore, how to make full use of these data is the most important work after the implementation of information systems, but also a long-term work. This article describes the construction methods of information resource services, discusses the necessary condition to carry out the integrated information services, and finally introduce the practice results of Tsinghua University integrated information services.

  • Exploration of cloud computing technologies for geographic information services

Cloud computing is network-based computing, which enables people to run modeling applications on a virtual server or thousands of servers. With the development of cloud computing technology, the public can use computing power just like the way they use water, electricity, gas and telephone. Geographic information is one of the resources over the network, and there are increasing demands of spatial-intensive applications. The cloud providers should take account of geographic information services. In this paper, we expound some key technologies of cloud computing, such as Distributed File System (DFS), Map- Reduce, and Bigtable. Then regarding geographic information Services, we designed a cloud computing architecture, which consists of application, visualization, services, computing, storing and infrastructure layers. We will analyze how these clouding computing technologies can be applied to the implementation of geographic information cloud computing platform.

  • An Information Services Architecture Model Based on Data Processing Stages

The author's simple model for an information services architecture is intended as a common frame of reference for both business and technical practitioners and groups various aspects of computing into four distinct layers based on data processing stages. These layers cover data life-cycle states from the time data is generated, stored, and analyzed, to when it's delivered and used. The model incorporates a link with typical enterprise architecture layers.
