    This paper presents a method to estimate a three-dimensional (3D) trajectory and posture of lower limb during jumping motion as well as standing motion using wireless inertial measurement unit (WIMU). Five WIMUs acquire 3D acceleration and 3D angular velocity of five location of lower body (thigh and shank of both leg and back of the waist). Longitudinal direction of lower extremity and trunk is estimated from posture of WIMU which is updated by integration of angular velocity and posture of lower limbs is constructed by connecting joints of each segment. Pressure-sensitive conductive rubber located under heel is used to identify the position of foot on the ground or in the air. When the foot touches on the ground, posture and position of body are calculated in sequence from the foot to the other one via trunk. When both feet are apart from the ground, position of trunk is estimated by double integration of body acceleration. One subject performed vertical jump and estimated posture is compared with the actual one obtained using optical motion capture system. Experimental results show that the estimated posture qualitatively corresponds to the actual one and estimation error of vertical displacement is about 1 [%].

    Research on stock company comprehensive assessment has always been an important focus for economists and computer experts. In this paper, the financial indexes reflecting the comprehensive capability of stock companies as main research objects including income per thigh, clean asset per thigh, profit rate of clean asset, Kohonen network with the advantage of clustering is applied to assess for stock companies. In order to improve the precision of solutions, a tabu-mapping method is also used to avoid the same output node to be mapped by more than one input in this paper. Experimental results show that Kohonen network is feasible and effective to assess stock companies, it could provide a new reference basis for government and investors, which has potential applications in the financial field.

In this thesis, the reasons of these differences are analyzed, by which some theoretical references for different national physical education are provided.

  • Digital image processing for detection of wooden foreign bodies in plain radiographs of chicken thighs

    Contrast enhancement was studied to improve the detection of wooden foreign bodies in Emergency Department radiographs. Wood inserted into chicken thighs served as models of puncture wounds in the human hand. Digitized plain-film radiographs of chicken thighs with and without foreign bodies were processed with various contrast enhancement algorithms. Results from the two most promising techniques were evaluated by a physician with training in radiology, and computation times and subjective performance of these algorithms were compared. Use of these two techniques led to better detection of foreign bodies in the enhanced images than in the original radiographs.

  • Detection of gait abnormality through leg symmetry and temporal parameters

    This paper proposes a method for detecting gait abnormality through the correlation between the thighs and shanks of the left and right leg of the subjects and the comparison of temporal parameters by using MetaMotionR - an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sensor from Mbientlab. Temporal gait parameters which can be derived in this study are double limb support time, gait cycle time or stride time, stance time, swing time, and step time. Using the method proposed, the results of the correlation of the thigh and shank of both left and right leg shows a value which is close to 1 which indicates that symmetry between both legs. On an average of 31.93% difference among all temporal parameters, the normal gait and the abnormal gait can be compared and shows that the temporal parameters for the gait with abnormality has a larger value due to the knee injury.

  • The effects of postural difficulty conditions on variability of joint kinematic patterns during sit to stand task in normals and patients with non-specific chronic low back pain

    Sit to stand (STS) is one of the most important activities of daily living that is shown to be affected in low back pain (LBP) patients. It requires a fundamental coordination action among all segments (DOFs) of the body in order to control important performance variables such as body's center of mass (CM) within base of support (BOS). In this study, possible differences in joint coordination and variability patterns between chronic LBP and healthy control subjects were investigated during STS task. Eleven adults with nonspecific chronic LBP and 12 healthy controls were recruited in the study. The participants performed the task in 3 exerimental conditions including: rigid surface, open eyes (RO), rigid surface, close eyes (RC) and narrow surface, close eyes (NC). The variability of 7 segment motions and also CM positions were calculated across 15 trials in these conditions. A mixed model analysis of variance showed that both LBP and control groups could coordinate their DOFs in order to stablilize body CM position, although elemental variability (segment motion variability) was totally higher in LBPs than controls, especially trunk and head segment variability. These findings confirm the existence of fundamental coordinatiom strategies in deep lying structures of control systems which help the system maintain its functions despite possible impaiments in elements.

  • Limitations to the scaling of Schottky barrier diodes

    Schottky barrier diodes are being used with bipolar digital circuits in many new circuit configurations. The need for low barrier Schottky diodes is very apparent now. The extreme sensitivity of the Schottky barrier diodes to temperature makes the range of spread of their parameters (area and barrier height) very limited. Also, it is shown that the Schottky barrier height has to be scaled as the logarithmic function of the area of the diodes.

  • A decentralized real-time control for biped robot

    This paper describes a structure of a decentralized control for a biped robot system. The biped robot is regarded as the aggregation of some subsystems. A biped walking is implemented by contacting an environment alternately. The environment consists of various objects with a dynamic characteristic. In other words, there are numerous modes in the environment. Therefore, the mode of the environment should be extracted properly in order to realize a stable walking. A certain mode acts on the COG(center of gravity) directly. It is necessary to communicate each mode to the subsystems which need its mode at hard real time on condition that there is no priority in information. This paper discusses a general structure of decentralized control which information is required to communicate at hard real time. The performance of proposed method is confirmed by the developed simulator.
