    With the increasing size of the medical data, the traditional processing methods and tools could not meet the requirements. So, resolving the challenges that the big medical data faces, is critical to realizing the promise of the big data [1]. Aiming at the problems in the big data integration process, this paper proposes the clinical data integration and management system based on Hadoop platform. As a result, the system can connect with multiple heterogeneous data source, such as EMR, PACS, LIS and so on. And then, on the basis of the data sharing, it can retrieve the patient's medical records and manage the different information.

  • Service-Oriented Business Intelligence (SoBI) for Academic and Financial Data Integration in University

    Previously, data integration in Business Intelligence (BI) is done by ETL process (Extract, Transform, and Loading). Service-oriented Business Intelligence (SoBI) offers data integration process in a simpler way when compared to the ETL process in BI. In this study, the SoBI will be implemented to integrate academic and financial data at Satya Wacana Christian University (SWCU) into Data Warehouse. The Data Warehouse was developed with Galaxy scheme and implemented with SQL Server 2012. The results of the study show that to apply SoBI, dashboard application must be made that serves to manage data integration process. Data integration on SoBi is done with the help of Web Service by building Service Provider at location of data source and Service Requestor on dashboard application. The Service Provider can be called by the dashboard application to perform the data retrieval process from the data source and transfer data into the Data Warehouse, so that the ETL process is done entirely by the Web Service. In addition, the dashboard application also serves to synchronize data from data sources through Web Service so that the data to be integrated is also more consistent.

    In the context of cloud computing, Mobile Data Integration Platform is put forward, on this basis, we first study on SORE (Simplied Object Repository) system of heterogeneous data integration based on CORBA.     20 years after writing Enterprise Application Integration, data integration is still an afterthought when it comes to the cloud deployments I see. Enterprises moving to cloud tend to focus on the move itself, and not as much on what they need when they get there. While this may be a common practice, it's not a best practice. Data integration is needed because we just re-hosted some of our data on a remote cloud service. Thus, the inventory system that's still running on a mainframe in the data center needs to share data with the sales order system that's now on AWS. In other words, our data integration problem domain just got bigger and more complex.

  • Design of Electric Power Enterprise Data Integration Platform Architecture Based on CIM

    The heterogeneity of information systems constructed in different historical periods by electric power enterprise produces the problem of Information Island, which affects the effective use of information resources. This paper starts with analyzing the adoption status of information systems within power utilities, summarizes the data source types and their relationships. Meanwhile, the data integration necessity in power utility is discussed, and the main problems that include the heterogeneous and distribution of data sources, no unified identifier for power system data entities, lacking of entity associations are analyzed minutely. In order to solve these problems, the data integration platform architecture is designed, which uses CIM as the common data model in electric power enterprise. Through data integration platform, the heterogeneous data sources are mapped to general CIM model, and then the data services are provided by the platform through the well-defined data service interfaces. The data users can request data service via data service interface, and retrieve the object set that accord with specific CIM profile. Moreover, the meta-database schema of data integration platform is introduced in detail. Through the meta-database, the problems that include establishing associations for entities of various data sources, and the unified identifiers for same entities are solved.

  • Fingerprint clustering algorithm for data profiling using pentaho data integration

    Data profiling is an abnormality in the search process data that undermine the value of the data. Type of data profiling analysis techniques to detect duplication of text within a single paragraph can by using a text cluster. In this paper aims at doing text algorithm transformation cluster with fingerprint method using Pentaho Data Integration (PDI). As for methods used to conduct implementation text cluster with Pentaho Data Integration is to do a mapping algorithm fingerprint method on component contained in Pentaho, then perform a transformation per component, and further evaluation of the results of a text cluster with open source data profiling tool. Implementation of text clusters with Pentaho Data Integration successfully done but there is still some rudimentary logic. The results from implementation of clusters number on the transformation by using Pentaho Data Integration is greater than a number of text clusters by using the OpenRefine tool.

  • A Semantic Based Framework for the Purpose of Big Data Integration

    One of the most substantial opportunities in Big Data is to integrate disparate data sources across the enterprise. To realize this goal it can be valuable to leverage environments developed for high speed parallel processing as well as toolkits supporting the development and maintenance of semantic information. In support of this approach a proposed framework and methodology is presented to utilize an ontology-based data integration strategy. Our approach supports a rule-based translation to generate new ontology versions within a fast prototyping environment leveraging the Jena API within the context of the Apache Spark environment.
