To provide a liaison between the electronics/computers industry in Pakistan with academia and pure research organizations.

2009 IEEE Conference on the History of Technical Societies

We will invite papers on the history of the engineering profession, particularly on the role of professional societies in engineering, and emphasis will be on the technical fields served by the IEEE. We expect that historians and engineers will propose papers on publications, standards, professional ethics, and other aspects of the engineering profession. We expect that the majority of papers will deal with the history of particular professional organizations.

An instrument-independent test software framework allows both hardware and software reuse

Jurcak, T. AUTOTESTCON, 97. 1997 IEEE Autotestcon Proceedings, 1997

We are now reaping the benefits of an Object-Oriented software implementation of an ABBET (IEEE-1226) Signal-Oriented Test Framework. In our factory, we have created test software that is devoid of any knowledge of the instruments in our test set. Because of this, we can now choose whether we want a voltage measurement to be made by IEEE-488 Digital Multimeter (DMM) ...

Higher Education Business Process Improvement: Achieving BPMM Level 3

Duarte, D.; Ventura Martins, P. Quality of Information and Communications Technology (QUATIC), 2014 9th International Conference on the, 2014

The adoption of business process improvement strategies is a challenge to organizations trying to improve the quality and productivity of their services. The quest for the benefits of this improvement on resource optimization and the responsiveness of the organizations has raised several proposals for business process improvement approaches. However, proposals and results of scientific research on process improvement in higher ...

Alternative Security Metrics

Bayuk, J.L. Information Technology: New Generations (ITNG), 2011 Eighth International Conference on, 2011

Today's security metrics support management practices rather than measure system capability to withstand attacks. This eliminates consideration of security features that are not currently used to manage systems as the basis for security metrics. Rather than judge security metrics by a utility standard with respect to current security management practices, they should instead be appreciated for proposing alternatives ways to ...

A distributed service oriented infrastructure for business process management in Virtual Organizations

Danesh, M.H.; Raahemi, B.; Kamali, S.M.A.; Richards, G. Electrical & Computer Engineering (CCECE), 2012 25th IEEE Canadian Conference on, 2012

Virtual Organizations (VO)-a network of independent organizations collaborating to address specific business opportunities-have become popular in today's technology driven business environment business climate. Although many solutions have been proposed over past two decades to support inter- organizational interactions, VOs still face several challenges due to their dynamic and temporal nature that cannot be addressed by the traditional solutions such as ...

Comprehension and Learning of Social Goals Through Visualization

Jovanovic, J.; Bagheri, E.; Gasevic, D. Human-Machine Systems, IEEE Transactions on, 2015

The concept of social goals refers to organizational goals that are defined in an open and transparent manner; they serve as social objects that incite both formal and informal collaboration around shared interests/objectives. Our objective is to facilitate the comprehension of social goals and examine the role of social goals as scaffolds of social learning in an organization. To this ...
