Feedback

Feedback describes the situation when output from (or information about the result of) an event or phenomenon in the past will influence an occurrence or occurrences of the same (i.e. same defined) event / phenomenon (or the continuation / development of the original phenomenon) in the present or future. When an event is part of a chain of cause-and-effect that forms a circuit or loop, then the event is said to "feed back" into itself. (Wikipedia.org)

Encryption using random keys-a scheme for secure communications

Goyal, P.K.; Fernandez, E.B. Aerospace Computer Security Applications Conference, 1988., Fourth, 1988

An encryption scheme using a random key generator with memory is presented. This system generates a random sequence of encryption/decryption keys. A feedback mechanism is used to endow the key generator with memory, thereby making it difficult to infer the random key sequence from a partial sequence of keys. The random key sequence is independent of the encrypting algorithm and ...

STATCOM based on multimodules of multilevel converters under multiple regulation feedback control

Yiqiang Chen; Boon-Teck Ooi Power Electronics, IEEE Transactions on, 1999

This paper describes a STATCOM based on diode-damped multilevel power converters. The current rating is increased by parallel connections of multiple power converter modules. The gate-turn-off thyristor (GTO) switching angles of the fundamental switching strategy are exploited in the design to accomplish three objectives: (1) low total harmonic distortion (THD) in voltages and currents; (2) equal sharing of the currents ...

Awny, A.; Thiede, A.; Scheytt, J.C. Microwave Symposium Digest (MTT), 2011 IEEE MTT-S International, 2011

Modification of the 1-tap parallel look-ahead decision feedback equalizer (DFE) architecture is developed using Boolean algebra to enable its operation at 80 Gbps and beyond. Measurement techniques which can be generally applied to the testing of this as well as to other DFE architectures are devised. The equalizer's wide band clock distribution network enables its operation from 25 to 80 ...

Hop-by-hop congestion control over a wireless multi-hop network

Yung Yi; Shakkottai, S. INFOCOM 2004. Twenty-third AnnualJoint Conference of the IEEE Computer and Communications Societies, 2004

This paper focuses on congestion control over multi-hop, wireless networks. In a wireless network, an important constraint that arises is that due to the MAC (media access control) layer. Many wireless MACs use a time-division strategy for channel access, where, at any point in space, the physical channel can be accessed by a single user at each instant of time. ...

Design-Oriented Feedback Analysis

Middlebrook, R. David Design-Oriented Feedback Analysis, 2005

This tutorial introduces the General Feedback Theorem (GFT). Feedback systems are usually designed with the familiar single-loop block diagram in mind. Various nonidealities, such as unavoidable minor loops and direct forward transmission, make the single-loop block diagram progressively less useful. The GFT defines a natural block diagram model that is identical in format to the single-loop model that is conventionally ...

RF Power Amplifier Linearization

Má irtí n O'Droma RF Power Amplifier Linearization, 2006

This course reviews key RF transmitter power amplifier linearization issues. The underlying power amplifier nonlinearity problem, that of the competing requirements of power amplifier efficiency and linear signal transmission paths for bandwidth efficient, modulation-complex signals, is presented, together with the linearization solution. Modern linearization schemes and where linearization research, and technology, is headed is addressed.
