Because those manuals include the same instructions in multiple languages, they are usually written in the primary language of the manufacturing company and then translated into the remaining languages. This can cause problems with procedures and terminology. In this chapter, the author explains from her experience why this is so, what tools are available to help, and the resulting challenges faced by technical communicators.
