Capacitor mismatch compensation for the quasi-passive-switched-capacitor DAC

Rombouts, P.; Weyten, L.; Raman, J.; Audenaert, S. Circuits and Systems I: Fundamental Theory and Applications, IEEE Transactions on, 1998

A method to eliminate the effect of capacitor mismatch for a switched- capacitor DAC is described. The method consists of two elements. The first element is the use of a compensating switching algorithm, which can eliminate the effect of capacitor mismatch only for some digital input values. The second element is that each digital word is written as the sum ...

Expressions for the ideal signal to noise ratio and dynamic range of both architectures are found, as well as a model of the degradation of the mentioned parameters ...

Semiconductor technology considerations in high speed data conversion

Chang, M.F. Compound Semiconductor Integrated Circuit Symposium, 2004. IEEE, 2004

When designing low-cost, moderate-performance data converters (ADCs or DACs), CMOS is an almost universal choice. However, as the performance requirements increase and the cost constraints diminish, the choice of technology is not as straightforward. This paper analyzes trade-offs between various IC technologies for high-speed ADC/DAC insertions. These technology considerations may influence circuit designers in technology selection and help process engineers ...

Towards a Universal, Quantifiable, and Scalable File Format Converter

McHenry, K.; Kooper, R.; Bajcsy, P. e-Science, 2009. e-Science '09. Fifth IEEE International Conference on, 2009

This paper addresses the problem of designing a universal file format converter. File format conversion is a necessary part of data dissemination and curation. Complete and robust converters however are hard to find and build due to the abundance of file formats, the fact that many formats are closed, and the complexities within individual format specifications. On the other hand ...
