Processor architecture for extended lapped transform

1996 8th European Signal Processing Conference (EUSIPCO 1996), 1996

This paper is devoted to implementation of Extended Lapped Transform (ELT), which is among the most efficient factorization methods for paraunitary filterbanks. First we utilize the special form of the matrices in the part of factorization of ELT to process data at input data rate in a pipelined structure with minimal number of processor elements without inserting additional delays. Next ...

The Quality Chain Management of Dairy Enterprise under the Supply Chain Environment

2010 International Conference on Management and Service Science, 2010

The "Sanlu milk powder" scandal reflected the potential troubles about supply chain quality control. This paper introduces the concept of dairy quality chain management, the implement framework and content of dairy enterprises' quality chain management. In order to ensure the implementing of the dairy enterprises' quality chain management, some guarantee measures are given.

First we utilize the special form of the matrices in the part of factorization of ELT to process data at input data rate in a pipelined structure with minimal number of processor elements without inserting additional delays. Next we suggest an algorithm for DCT-IV transform, the other part of ELT factorization, with a constant geometry structure suitable for the use of perfect-shuffle network.

  • Milk Carton: A Face Recognition-Based FTR System Using Opportunistic Clustered Computing

Family Tracing and Reunification (FTR) is the process whereby families separated by disasters are reunited. Current FTR systems use either inefficient paper-based forms and notice boards or digital registries that need the Internet, which may be unavailable during disasters. In this demonstration we present Milk Carton: a system that aids in FTR. Milk Carton creates a registry containing evacuee records. To find separated persons, Milk Carton uses Eigenfaces face recognition to match queries with existing records. Milk Carton uses a clustered architecture of Computing Nodes to handle data storage and execute the Eigenfaces algorithm. To operate under challenged-network environments, Milk Carton uses response patrol vehicles as data ferries to deliver data. In this demonstration, we show how Milk Carton uses Eigenfaces to locate separated persons and how data ferries and Computing Nodes function.

  • Enhance the Multi-level Fuzzy Association Rules Based on Cumulative Probability Distribution Approach

This paper introduces a fusion model to reinforce multi-level fuzzy association rules, which integrated cumulative probability distribution approach (CPDA) and multi-level taxonomy concepts to extract fuzzy association rules. The proposed model generate large item sets level by level and mine multi-level fuzzy association rule lead to finding more informative and important knowledge from transaction dataset, which is more objective and reasonable in determining the universe of discourse and membership functions with other multi-level fuzzy association rules.

  • Distribution of Fingerprints for 802.11-Based Positioning Systems

While indoor positioning systems based on 802.11 and fingerprinting work pretty well, it is unknown how to distribute large amounts of fingerprint data to mobile devices. Even worse, many mobile devices are restricted in terms of memory capabilites. We identified three classes of mobile devices representing different levels of storage capabilities. For each of these classes, we present a distribution approach for fingerprint data: the Union of Access Points (UAP), the Strongest Access Point (SAP), and the Intersection of Access Points (IAP) algorithm. These approaches utilize the 802.11 network to download only a subset of the fingerprint data to a mobile device. The subset covers the area close to the actual position of the mobile device in such a way that position estimates can be computed. The size of the subset is different for each of the three algorithms.

  • Corpus-Based Extraction of Collocations in Chinese

Collocation, i.e. the sequences of certain words which habitually co-occur, plays an essential part in human language. The present study is intending to identify the detailed classification and typical features of collocations in Chinese language, and explore a new computer-assistant way for extraction and representation of Chinese collocations. The investigation is based on the largest and only Singapore Chinese corpus (SCC), of which 20 million words have been analysed. The central novel idea of this research is the combination of dictionary, language rules and statistic data in automatic collocation extraction. So far, this method has not been proposed.
